Wrestlers are no strangers to injuries. No matter how good one wrestler is, it doesn’t mean they can avoid injuries all the time. While there are wrestlers who rarely get injured, there are also those who are more injury-prone than others, which can cause them to lose a push, a championship, and even their careers.

Fans know that a wrestler is most likely to get injured during a match. While some wrestlers can work through injuries for some time (Kenny Omega, for instance), most wrestlers can’t. In some matches, wrestlers suffered serious injuries and then, they were immediately hospitalized. It's a scary situation that fans never wish to see.
10 The Undertaker
At WWE's WrestleMania 30, The Undertaker faced Brock Lesnar. Nobody was expecting him to lose against Lesnar, and when it happened, fans were shocked. After the match, it was revealed that The Phenom had suffered a concussion.
He was immediately rushed to the emergency room in a nearby hospital. This incident had a negative impact on The Undertaker who lost a ton of self-confidence. It took him some time to finally get it back, and The Deadman thanked Triple H for this.
9 Enzo Amore
At Payback 2016, Enzo Amore and Big Cass faced The Vaudevillains to determine the next challengers for the Tag Team Championship. During this match, Amore suffered a concussion after his head hit the ring way too hard during a spot, and was hospitalized. Amore was unable to wrestle for some time after this.
8 Abadon
During a match against Tay Conti, Abadon suffered an injury and was taken to the hospital. It was later revealed that Abadon took an elbow to the throat and started having breathing issues. Due to the injury, this match was abruptly stopped. Fans criticized AEW for this injury as it was one of the many injuries that took place in a short time.
7 Matt Tremont
Indie deathmatches can often result in serious injuries. Recently when Matt Tremont wrestled Atsushi Onita in a Current Blast Double Hell Deathmatch, he suffered serious burns and injuries and was hospitalized as a result. It was revealed that Tremont started experiencing a lot of pain once the adrenaline wore off and was expected to spend up to a week in the hospital.
6 David Arquette
Another wrestler who was hospitalized after a deathmatch was David Arquette. He wrestled this match during an indie event without knowing just how dangerous it could be. Turns out, very dangerous.

After the match, he realized that deathmatches aren’t his thing and that he has zero plans to be involved in a match like this again. Arquette learned the hard way just how real wrestling can be.
5 Braun Strowman
At Extreme Rules 2020, Braun Strowman faced Bray Wyatt in a Wyatt Swamp Fight match. Some months ago, Strowman revealed that after shooting for this match, he collapsed from dehydration got a full-body cramp as well. This was enough to get him to the emergency room where he was treated.
4 Finn Balor
On NXT: New Year’s Evil, Finn Balor defended his NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly. After the match, both wrestlers needed medical attention. Kyle got his jaw x-rayed whereas Balor got his arm checked. This was a brutal match and their efforts paid off because it turned out to be an NXT classic.

Although, this wasn’t the first time Balor was hospitalized after a match. At SummerSlam 2016, he injured his shoulder in the Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins. The very next day, Finn had to relinquish the belt due to his injury.
3 Kurt Angle
In his Reddit AMA session, Kurt Angle was asked about his King of the Ring 2001 match against Shane McMahon. Angle revealed that while he was meant to suplex Shane through the pane of glass, that was supposed to be sugar glass and not plexiglass.
The glass panel didn’t break on the first attempt, and when Kurt suplexed Shane for the second time, it injured him badly. As a result, McMahon got over 50 stitches. Both wrestlers were heavily injured during this Street Fight and spent the rest of the night in the hospital. According to Kurt, this was the most brutal match of his career.
2 Matt Hardy
At WrestleCade 2015, Matt Hardy defended the WrestleCade Championship against Jeff Jarrett. This was a brutal match, and by the end of it, Hardy was bleeding like crazy. After the match, he spent overnight in the hospital for observation.
1 Joey Mercury
At Armageddon 2006, MNM (the team of Joey Mercury and John Morrison) participated in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The Hardy Boyz were also a part of this match and they were supposed to do a spot with MNM, which went horribly wrong.
Jeff was supposed to do a leg drop on the ladder which would then move up toward the faces of Mercury and Morrison. While John managed a narrow escape, Mercury couldn’t cover his face in time. The ladder hit his face and he started leaking a ton of blood. In this accident, Mercury broke his nose, cut several parts of his face, and even had internal bleeding from his nose and eyes. He was immediately taken to the emergency room for treatment.
