Footage from The Last Ride shows The Undertaker singling out AJ Styles as someone he "missed" two years before their Boneyard Match.

WWE is currently three episodes into a five-part series dubbed "The Last Ride". A show detailing The Undertaker's last few years in WWE. Some fans think the show is airing now as The Deadman is finally done in the ring. Chances are that won't be revealed until the fifth and final episode, or knowing WWE, maybe not even then.

As most thought at the time, The Undertaker's match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 was supposed to be his last. When he left his hat, gloves, and coat in the ring and walked off into the sunset. As was also revealed on the doc, Taker watched the match back months later and was "disgusted". He decided that wasn't going to be his last match.

When Taker wasn't sure what the future would hold for him, the doc shows footage of him watching AJ Styles. The future Hall of Famer gestures to the television and speaks of his disappointment in regard to missing out on working with The Phenomenal One. Not only that, but he also admits Styles reminds him a lot of Shawn Michaels, one of Taker's greatest ever opponents.

According to the WWE Network's Twitter account, Taker made those comments two years before he wound up getting to wrestle the man he thought he had missed. The Phenom and The Phenomenal One clashed in a Boneyard Match at this year's WrestleMania. The cinematic spectacular allowed Taker to wrestle without having to put his body on the line in the same way that he would during a regular wrestling match.

It might mean fans never see Taker in the ring again, and instead, he will wrestle exclusively in cinematic style matches. It eliminates the risk of his match with Reigns ever happening again. If he misses a spot, the cameras stop rolling and they try it again. If he can't do the spot at all, then it can be cut from the match. The revelation at the end of The Last Ride could well be Taker revealing he will wrestle for the next decade or more, just not between the ropes.
