Certain Superstars in WWE just know how to shift merchandise. John Cena has sold more t-shirts than we could ever count, Stone Cold got fans around the world that simply read Austin 3:16, and AJ Styles seemingly has a different piece of merch on every single episode of SmackDown Live. Even The Phenomenal One doesn't hold a candle to The New Day's merch savvy, though.
Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods don't merely rely on t-shirts. The merch they peddle is a lot more unconventional for the most part. They have sold their very own unicorn horns via WWE Shop, and even have their own cereal, Booty-Os. However, in 2018, New Day has inexplicably moved its focus to a different breakfast food, pancakes, but why is that?

On every episode of SmackDown Live, the trio struts to the ring while flinging pancakes into the WWE Universe. They have no pancake-themed merch, though, so why do they do it? Well, before New Day had ever even touched a pancake on camera, WWE had plans for the SmackDown Tag Team Champions to have their own line of either pancake batter or syrup. At least that's what Bryan Alvarez revealed recently on Wrestling Observer Live.
The most confusing aspect of this news is that WWE decided to make pancakes a part of New Day's gimmick anyway. Even though the idea for a new breakfast food product range fell through, the idea still made it to television. Lucky for WWE, New Day is weird and wacky enough that no one really questioned it. They have had strange ideas before and we just assumed this was the latest of them.
The only question that remains is what breakfast food will be next for The New Day? Maybe bacon is on the cards, or even porridge. On second thought, neither of those products necessarily lend themselves to being poured into fans' mouths on the way to the ring. New Day won't want the mess that comes with porridge or to offend a vegetarian by throwing bacon at them. We'll leave coming up with new ideas to them as they are clearly very good at it.
