Jorge Masvidal, who recently came out of retirement in MMA, publicly criticized his former friend Colby Covington for his remarks about Donald Trump following his loss to Leon Edwards. Covington made bold claims that the judges at UFC 296 ruled against him due to his support for Trump, despite offering minimal threat during his bout with the British champion. Being a staunch advocate of the former US President, Trump was present at the championship fight to support Covington.
"I thought I had the win, I thought I did enough but the judges never favor me, they hate me because I support Trump and everybody hates Trump in this building so it is what it is, life goes on," said Covington at the UFC 298 post-fight press conference.
Masvidal, a fervent supporter of the former US President, isn't buying Covington's excuses and criticized his former opponent for using Trump as a scapegoat to shift blame away from himself.
