While the tag team found out months ago they wouldn't be a part of the upcoming AEW video game, FTR, is finding themselves answering questions about the omission now, in part, having to calm fans down who are rallying behind the duo. Yes, FTR probably should have been included considering they are one of the greatest tag teams in the world. They weren't. It's something everyone will just have to live with.
Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler are now publicly talking about the news that they were left out of the AEW Fight Forever game, a story first broken by Fightful Select. They are a bit surprised it's become a story considering they learned a couple of months ago they were being left out, but they wanted to reassure fans that they aren't upset. Both admit to being disappointed when they learned they were not slated to be a part of the first version of the AEW Fight Forever game even though they'd made it to the “model phase” and were originally set to be included. Rumors that they were upset about being removed meant less of a bonus were not accurate. Their concern was more that they weren't told and that they may have inadvertently done something to warrant removal.
FTR spoke to Louis Dangoor of Give Me Sport and explained that their big concern was being blindsided by the news and what it meant for their standing in AEW. They assumed that maybe there was something they needed to be worried about or read between the lines. They wondered why they weren't told and so they went searching for answers. Wheeler noted, "We got an answer, it made a lot of sense, a very logical answer." From there they were cool with it and weren't worried.
FTR Is Trying To Calm Fans Down
There is a lot of unhappiness from a portion of the fan base that the tag team won't be in the game and they're hoping fans can chill out a bit about it. They appreciate how much the fans care, but they aren't worried, or upset and they don't want the fans to be either. It's certainly not an issue either think a fan should be arguing over. "It’s cool they care about us, but I hate that it has to come at the expense of people fighting too," Wheeler said.
