On the latest "Wrestling With Freddie" podcast episode former WWE writer and Hollywood actor Freddie Prinze Jr. discussed some of the changes under Triple H's new creative direction and hinted that a very big change could be coming to Monday Night Raw. While Prinze Jr. isn't part of the WWE team and he wouldn't have official confirmation of this, he does expect that Raw will eventually move to two hours.
The podcast host reviewed the August 1 episode of "WWE Raw" and said, "This is the beginning of the Triple H era." He added, "It was Monday Night Raw, which I think very soon will be a two-hour, not a three-hour show, based off a lot of things Kevin Nash has said and some things that Triple H said on Stone Cold's podcast, as well." Nash has been critical of Raw's three-hour pacing and the struggle that comes from WWE trying to write content for that third hour. Prinze Jr. confirmed the struggle from his time as a writer there and noted, "If I could change anything, I'd love it to be two hours. The third hour of television is so exponentially harder to write, I can't even begin to describe it to you. It's just really difficult."
Nash was aware that the third hour is a huge money maker for WWE and they aren't about to jeopardize a massive television deal worth a billion dollars to remove one hour of the show. Co CEO Nick Khan has hinted that WWE isn't going to remove revenue generators from their planning, but actually look for more ways to have those types of deals bring in money for the company. As such, the solution might be to find another way to use that third hour versus having it be part of the episode.

Triple H's Three Hours Have Been Strong
The good news is that Raw has been entertaining of late and effectively used all three hours to keep the fans entertained. There seems to be far less filler with action happening all the time and in-ring wrestling matches getting a bit more time to play out. If the new creative team under Triple H can keep the momentum going, perhaps the third hour is seen as a positive.
