While some may consider SmackDown to be WWE's "B" show, the truth is that their women's division is on fire. Off the cusp of the very first women's championship match to ever take place in Saudi Arabia, the females of Team Blue continue to knock it out of the park each and every week on Friday nights, and can often be the highlight of the show.

Debuting on the August 23rd edition of SmackDown LIVE in 2016, the SD Women's Championship was launched as a counterpart to the RAW's Women's title. When the brand extension was once again launched that year, and Charlotte Flair (the WWE Women's Champion at the time) was drafted to RAW, the SD women's division was left without a championship; therefore, to fill this void, the SmackDown Women's title was born. Below is an overview of each and every SmackDown Women's Champion, ranked.

8 Natalya

Undeniably one of the best technical wrestlers in the business—male or female—Nattie had a pretty solid run with the SmackDown Women's title in 2017. She held the championship for 86 days, winning it by defeating Naomi at the SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) that year and thus becoming the first superstar to hold both the SD Women's title and the Divas Championship.

While she would successfully retain her championship within a program against Naomi, Nattie would eventually drop the title to Charlotte Flair later in 2017, during the November 14th edition of SmackDown LIVE.

7 Asuka

At one point in time, it seemed as if no one was ever truly ready for Asuka when she hit the main roster and enjoyed an undefeated streak of 914 days—the longest in WWE's history. She's also enjoyed many different other accomplishments within the company, including first-ever Women's Royal Rumble winner, one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, and also SmackDown Women's Champion.

She would win the title on December 16, 2018 during a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs PPV bout that pitted her against Becky Lynch and then-SD champ Charlotte Flair and hold onto the championship for 99 days. While it seemed as if Asuka was going to head into WrestleMania 35 as the champion, plans shifted very quickly, and she dropped the title to Flair on the March 26, 2018 edition of SD LIVE, right before the big event.

6 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss wasn't exactly the first female pick to be drafted to SmackDown LIVE when the brand extension was launched in 2016. However, she certainly did hit the ground running within the main roster once she entered that world.

She's a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion, totaling 109 days combined between her two reigns. Her first go-around with this title happened on December 4, 2016, when she defeated Becky Lynch at the TLC PPV, and she'd hang on to the championship for 69 days before losing it to Naomi. Bliss would win it for a second time on February 21, 2017, during an episode of SmackDown LIVE where she defeated Becky Lynch to win the championship. However, clearly, she was just holding the title warm for Naomi—she had vacated it due to injury—Bliss would wind up dropping it months later to Naomi at WrestleMania 33.

5 Carmella

She sure is F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S, and Carmella had an explosive reign as SmackDown Women's Champion during her heyday. Her title race story started at the 2017 Money in the Bank PPV when she scored the contract, with a little help from James Ellsworth. Months would go by, with tease cash-ins here and there. Yet, it was two days after WrestleMania 34, and, when Charlotte Flair took a beating at the hands of the IIconics, and Carmella could hear opportunity calling.

Carmella not only made history by becoming women's champ during her cash-in, but she also held the record as the superstar to hold onto that MITB contract before cashing it, keeping it under wraps for an incredible 287 days! Carmella reigned as SmackDown Women's Champion for 130 days until SummerSlam of that year, losing it the "Queen" Charlotte Flair.

4 Naomi

The WWE Universe simply loves to "feel the glow" and watch Naomi in that squared circle. She's athletic, entertaining, and pulls off some of the most incredible spots within the matches she is in. As a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion, her first reign was a bit disappointing, as she held the title for 8 days and had to vacate it due to a knee injury.

With that said, she was vindicated and got her "WrestleMania" moment months later when she scored the win and the title in front of her hometown of Orlando at WrestleMania 33 when she defeated Alexa Bliss. Her second reign lasted 139 days before she dropped the title to Nattie at the 2017 SummerSlam PPV.

3 Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is a five-time SmackDown Women's Champion and is sure to surpass her father Ric Flair 16-time world champion record sooner rather than later. Not only does she have bragging rights around the most reigns as a SD Women's Champ, but she also holds the record for the shortest reign (at a mere four minutes and 55 seconds at the 2019 MITB PPV, due to JUST beating Becky Lynch, only to have Bayley cash in the MITB contract she had won that night). Alas, she also has the longest single run with the title, at 146 days.

2 Becky Lynch

She's the man, she's the longest-reigning RAW Women's Champion, and she's one of the top faces of the WWE (male or female), so it's a bit shocking that she hits number two on this list. While her "Stone Cold" Steve Austin-like persona was born on SmackDown LIVE, her championship reigns cannot compare to what she has done on Monday Night RAW.

Still, what she did do on the Blue brand wasn't too shabby, either; she was the first-ever SmackDown Women's Champion, she once held both RAW and SmackDown Women's title at the same time, and she is a three-time SD Women's Champion, totaling 216 if you combine all the days she was champ (and champ champ).

1 Bayley

As a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion, she has the record of most days under her combined reigns, at 281+ days. While the kids loved her at one point in time, Heel Bayley has been far more successful when it comes to championship runs than Hugger Bayley could ever dream of.

While Flair does hold the longest singles reign on the title, Bayley isn't too far behind at 141+ days, and she is sure to surpass Charlotte. Bayley also recently made history with Naomi when she successfully defended her SD Women's Championship at the Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia, the first time a women's championship match has ever rolled out in this area of the world.
