WWE announced Wednesday that Johnny Saint will serve as the general manager for its United Kingdom brand -- an indication the company plans to keep expanding its overseas footprint.

According to WWE, Saint will be charged with growing its U.K. division which includes helping oversee the upcoming United Kingdom Championship Tournament shows at Royal Albert Hall.

“For the guys who are in the wrestling scene here in the U.K., the worldwide exposure is a wonderful thing,” Saint told WWE.com after the announcement. “It’s something that we never really had before, so the new product is going to be tremendous for them.”

Saint worked at the WWE Performance Center for six months last year mentoring WWE recruits.

Saint's career spanned more than five decades. WWE.com notes he's widely regarded as one of the "most technically gifted grapplers of all time."
