AEW has been making headlines for the wrong reasons again this week as wrestlers worked around a competitor who had clearly been knocked out.

AEW is a very young company in the grand scheme of things. It celebrated the first anniversary of its weekly show just last week, and it hasn't even been two years since its existence was announced. It has had ups and downs during those first two years, and those running the show are still learning as they go.

However, some of the learning curves AEW has been running into need to be traversed quicker than others. The match between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara at All Out being allowed to continue, for instance. Hardy was clearly hurt, but after a quick check from a doctor, the veteran was given the all-clear to carry on. The former WWE Superstar was taken to hospital later that night.

AEW is now being criticized for another instance of letting a match continue when someone probably should have stepped in. Alex Reynolds was knocked out by a leg drop during Dynamite's main event this week. Even though it becomes clear that all is not well with Reynolds pretty quickly, as can be seen in the footage below, the match continues around him as the Dark Order member isn't even checked on.

The Butcher and The Blade drag Reynolds to the corner so that they can tag him out of the match. However, even after that, no officials or doctors check Reynolds for quite a while. It's almost a full minute before anyone gives him the once over, at which point he is allowed to continue. A clearly groggy Reynolds then tries to engage with Nick Jackson but appears to struggle to stay on his feet.

AEW EVP Cody Rhodes apparently went to ringside himself to check on Reynolds and he made his own way to the back unaided. It has also been revealed that Reynolds seemed fine once he got to the backstage area and didn't require further medical attention. Nevertheless, allowing him to lie there for a whole minute while knocked out did not make AEW look good during a show being broadcast live to millions around the world.
