Years on from the first time fans were told AEW was working on its very own video game, we finally have a release date. Fight Forever launches across multiple platforms on June 29, 2023, the same day as Forbidden Door 2. Held up for a number of reasons, including an artwork change due to the CM Punk issues, potential players were worried about the lack of something in the new trailer.

There Will Be Blood

Blood. The new trailer confirming Fight Forever is launching on June 29 doesn't include a drop of it. Since of the reasons that seemingly held up the game release was AEW and THQ Nordic not getting the rating it wanted from the ESRB at the first time of asking, fans were concerned blood had been removed from Fight Forever to make sure it can be legally sold to more people.

AEW has heard your concerns and don't worry. Fight Forever still has blood. In fact, Fight Forever has a lot of blood. “We've heard that many of you were worried that the blood was removed from #AEWFightForever. We'll let these new screenshots speak for themselves,” AEW Games tweeted, attaching two shots from the game that include more blood than you can shake a kendo stick at.

Bloodbaths

The first image features Orange Cassidy choking Chris Jericho in the corner with so much blood on the mat that it appears to be dripping over the apron. The second image somehow has even more blood, featuring Hikaru Shida standing over Abadon in what looks more like a murder scene than a wrestling match.

So yes, there will be blood in Fight Forever despite its T for Teen rating. While not confirmed, I'm also assuming there isn't a limit to how much a wrestler can bleed. Everyone in the matches above seems to have lost an awful lot of blood, but I'm sure some of you will challenge those limits on launch day. Now all we need to know is whether Punk will be in the game or not. It is a little amusing that he was removed from the cover when he may well be wrestling in AEW again by the time the game releases.
