Potentially forgotten by a number of WWE fans because it hasn't been mentioned on programming is the fact that Jey Uso being moved to Raw was part of a trade with SmackDown. The blue brand is to get a Superstar back and while that person has yet to be named, there is speculation that it could be revealed on tonight's season premiere episode for the blue brand.
While it could be literally anyone from the Raw brand, there are a few theories floating around. First, there is talk that Randy Orton might be on his way back to WWE and could return as early as this evening. Second, there are some who believe that Cody Rhodes will be the person to go. After all, it was Cody who got Jey on Raw in the first place and perhaps he had to make himself available via trade for that to happen. If so, the drama surrounding the tag team titles would increase. Finally, it could be someone random that is less obvious.
Considering this show is being billed as the season premiere, the name would need to be big enough to draw attention and move the needle, but there are plenty of names who could do so, including a few that are not necessarily main event stars but could be. Some fans are hoping it's CM Punk, but that seems extremely unlikely given all of the reports that WWE is not terribly interested in signing the former AEW star.

A Trade Should Be Of Equal Value
If this is going to make sense from a storyline perspective, the logical thing to do would be to pick someone who is seen in the eyes of the fans as someone on the same level as Jey Uso. And, considering the push he's gotten as Main Event Jey since his arrival on Raw, that bar is fairly high. It wouldn't make sense for SmackDown to accept an afterthought or a mid-carder in a deal unless the storyline is that they figured they were losing Jey because he quit and something was better than nothing. Even still, that's a stretch and fans should expect that whomever shows up on Friday as the other part of the trade will be a big name.
