After months and months of fans wishing for it, LA Knight has finally been getting a mega push fitting of the mega star. A successful and victorious feud with The Miz saw John Cena of all people raising his hand in the ultimate sign of respect. WWE sees what they have, even offering Knight a long term deal. Last Friday's SmackDown was to have seen LA Knight take another huge step, but alas, fate intervened. After testing positive for COVID-19 at the arena, Knight had to leave and miss the show.
It was the most unfortunate timing, especially with what WWE had planned for him that night. After Cena's ally, AJ Styles, was attacked, John Cena stood up to the remnants of The Bloodline alone in the main event segment. It was then that Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa attacked Cena, leaving him lying, with no one coming out to rescue him. It was odd that no one helped, but the reason for that awkwardness was because LA Knight was supposed to come out to save the sixteen-time champ, setting up John Cena and LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa for the Fast Lane PLE.
LA Knight's health was obviously most important, but we now have an update on his status. Knight is okay and has tested negative for COVID-19. PWInsider reports that he will be at SmackDown tonight in Sacramento, California. More than likely his planned match with Cena and The Bloodline will be announced, as Fastlane is next Saturday, October 7, in Indianapolis.

Is LA Knight On The Path To The Main Event?
With a midcard feud against The Miz behind him as a sort of test, LA Knight looks positioned to rocket to the main event scene. He already gets the loudest pops in the company (outside of that insane response to The Rock's surprise SmackDown appearance), and is the biggest merchandise seller. Putting him next to John Cena to go against The Bloodline is a major moment for him, especially if it leads to him being the one to pick up the pin.
After that, anything seems possible for LA Knight. There has already been speculation that he'll be the one to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Saudi Arabia held Crown Jewel PLE in November. While no one would expect LA Knight to be the one to beat Roman Reigns, at least not yet, to position him across from the biggest star of wrestling would only raise his stock. Come January he's going to be one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble. Then it's onward to WrestleMania, where so many options await. LA Knight couldn't even get on the card at this year's WrestleMania 39, following his Royal Rumble match with Bray Wyatt. At this year's WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia we could see LA Knight becoming a champion. No matter what happens, it looks like his main event push is here to stay, and it all starts tonight on SmackDown.
