The dust appeared to have settled somewhat on the Vince McMahon situation, at least publicly, since the former WWE chairman retired from his position over the summer. The allegations made against McMahon resurfaced on Tuesday as more claims were made and bizarrely, in the exact same report, it was revealed that McMahon now wants to return to the company, allegedly claiming he was given poor advice to retire in the first place.
Vince McMahon Isn't Wanted
Shortly after those reports started to circulate, others highlighting McMahon probably isn't wanted back in WWE followed. First from Fightful Select (via What Culture). A number of issues were raised by WWE employees approached, one of whom labeled McMahon's continued connection to the current product “exhausting”, while another admitted to fearing for the fates of Superstars Triple H has rehired since the former boss's retirement.

Almost as soon as The Game was dubbed head of creative, Triple H began bringing back wrestlers McMahon has released over the course of the past two years. Starting with Dakota Kai, that list is now a long one that also includes Tegan Nox, Braun Strowman, and Hit Row. Another unnamed source described a McMahon return as “selfish”, and PWInsider has corroborated all of the above by sharing views from some of its own WWE sources.
WWE Is Better Without Vince McMahon
After speaking with a dozen WWE employees, PWInsider reported the consensus is that McMahon isn't wanted back behind the scenes. That there's a more upbeat vibe and everyone is a lot happier. Needless to say, the sudden return of McMahon, especially if he were to continue as if nothing had ever happened, would be jarring and potentially pretty damaging to not only the on-screen product, but WWE as a whole.
On top of the reported pushback to McMahon potentially coming back, that his alleged desire to return was quite literally coupled with fresh allegations makes it seem like an incredibly unlikely scenario. It also cements the fact that the advice he received recommending he retire was definitely the best course of action, and not one many people would like to see reversed.
