Since 1977, WWE has had various iterations of the WWE Tag Team Championship. Some of the best tag teams in WWE history have held multiple tag team championships with pride. However, tag team wrestling has been an afterthought in WWE for the past decade or so. Moreover, plenty of makeshift tag teams have been formed with some wrestlers just in a tag team for something to do. In professional wrestling, age doesn't play a factor most of the time as youngsters have proven that they are more than ready to make a name for themselves.

Before many wrestlers branched out to become major singles stars on their own, they honed their skills in tag team wrestling. Some managed to capture a WWE Tag Team Championship in their careers earlier than expected.
10 Rezar: 22 Years, 7 Months
The Authors of Pain later shortened to AOP were destined for greatness after an exceptional run in NXT but they moved to the main roster, and injuries derailed both Akam and Rezar from fulfilling their full potential. Nevertheless, at TakeOver: San Antonio in January 2017, AOP beat #DIY to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.
With the victory, Rezar became one of the youngest NXT Tag Team Champions in history. AOP held the gold for seven months, and the legendary Paul Ellering who managed LOD in the past accompanied AOP to the ring. A year later, AOP captured the Raw Tag Team Titles but that's as good as it got for them as injuries mounted up.
9 Cody Rhodes: 22 Years, 6 Months
Hardcore Holly was a veteran by 2007 and he had seen it all before in his WWE career but he took Cody Rhodes under his wing in 2007. After some tough love, Holly and Rhodes formed a successful partnership. Cody benefitted by teaming up with Holly, and the pair defeated Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch for the World Tag Team Championship on the 15th Anniversary of Raw.
Rhodes was just 22 years old when he tasted his first piece of silverware in WWE but he did the ultimate act of betrayal at Night of Champions 2008. Rhodes turned his back on Holly, and he was the mystery partner that Ted DiBiase Jr. was talking about. The pair beat Holly with ease in a handicap match which saw the World Tag Team Titles go their way.
8 The Jumping Bomb Angels: 22 Years, 1 Month (Noriyo Tateno) And 22 Years, 21 Days (Itsuki Yamazaki)
One of the finest talents to come out of Japan was The Jumping Bomb Angels. They were on a hot streak as they were the sole survivors in their traditional Survivor Series elimination match at Survivor Series 1987. At the 1988 Royal Rumble, they challenged The Glamour Girls for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
The champions had Jimmy Hart in their corner but The Jumping Bomb Angels prevailed in a remarkable two-out-of-three falls match for the titles. Both Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki were 22 years of age, and they were the penultimate champions before they dropped the gold back to The Glamour Girls.
7 Jeff Hardy: 21 Years Old, 11 Months
Jeff Hardy's wrestling career has almost spanned 25 years but there are no surprises that he holds a lot of records by being amongst the youngest titleholders in WWE history. Jeff alongside his brother Matt are nine-time WWE Tag Team Champions. Their first run with the gold came shockingly when they upset the Acolytes for the World Tag Team Championship on the July 5, 1999, edition of Raw.

Jeff was one month shy of his 22nd birthday, and he captivated audiences with his aerial style of wrestling. Although the Hardy Boyz's first WWE Tag Team Championship reign wasn't long, there was no doubt that they would win the championships again.
6 The 1-2-3 Kid: 21 Years, 6 Months
In 1993, The 1-2-3 Kid was coming into his own as a fine in-ring performer. However, he formed an unlikely partnership with Shawn Michaels' former Rockers tag team partner Marty Jannetty. The tandem demonstrated their chemistry at Survivor Series which saw the pair becoming the sole survivors for their team.
Nonetheless, on the January 10, 1994 edition of Raw, The 1-2-3 Kid became the youngest World Tag Team Champion in history with that variation of the title, a record that he held for nine years. He and Jannetty dethroned The Quebecers, who did not take that lightly as they reclaimed the gold a week later on a house show.
5 Tyler Bate: 21 Years, 3 Months
Tyler Bate isn't just the inaugural and youngest NXT UK Champion in WWE history, he also has the distinction of being the youngest man to hold the NXT Tag Team Championship. The Moustache Mountain comprised of Bate and Severn ended The Undisputed Era's Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly's run with the titles.
Bate was 21 years of age but he has another unwanted record which he wouldn't like to hold as he is also the shortest reigning NXT Tag Team Champion as their reign lasted just two days. The Undisputed Era regained their titles but Bate has shown signs of a successful WWE career.
4 Velvet McIntyre: 20 Years, 6 Months & Princess Victoria: 21 Years, 357 Days
In May 1983, WWE introduced the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Velvet McIntyre and Princess Victoria had the privilege of holding the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship and they were the youngest titleholders.

McIntyre was just 20 years old, and Princess Victoria was eight days away from turning 22. Unfortunately, Victoria did not get to see out the remainder of her championship run with McIntyre as she sustained a career-threatening neck injury in 1984.
3 Kenny: 20 Years, 1 Month
When you looked at The Spirit Squad, the stars were aligned for Kenny Dykstra but his WWE career did not pan out the way it was supposed to. Nevertheless, on the Raw after WrestleMania 22, the Spirit Squad beat Kane and Big Show for the World Tag Team Championship.
Since there were five members of the faction, they shared responsibilities under the Freebird rule. At the age of 20, Kenny was the second youngest World Tag Team Champion. He wrestled in the majority of their matches which made sense as he was one of the best in-ring performers of the group.
2 Rene Dupree: 19 Years, 6 Months
In 2003, Rene Dupree and Sylvain Grenier formed La Resistance, and they garnered heat as one of the most hated tag teams in the Ruthless Aggression era. They upset Kane and Rob Van Dam at Bad Blood 2003 to become the new World Tag Team Champions. Dupree made history as the youngest man to win the World Tag Team Championship at the tender age of 19.
Dupree and Grenier's partnership dissolved by early 2004 with Grenier injured, and Dupree was drafted to SmackDown. He quickly continued his love affair of winning tag team titles as he won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Kenzo Suzuki when he was just 20.
1 Nicholas: 10 Years
To sum up, the sad state of the tag team division was a 10-year child in Nicholas partnering Braun Strowman to win the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 34. Nicholas and Strowman dethroned The Bar, and Cesaro and Sheamus certainly deserved better as they were at the top of their games.
Their title run was never going to last long since Nicholas was a child, and it made Strowman look silly more than anything. By default, Nicholas isn't just the youngest tag team champion in WWE history, he is also the youngest person to win any championship in WWE.
