Luke Harper hasn't been on tv in months, but he'll be returning to WWE at the Axxess show on WrestleMania weekend. He's treating it like a comeback.
Harper took to Twitter on Friday to talk about the negative feelings he associated with being left at home to rot by WWE. He wrote in a fairly lengthy statement that at 39 years old, this has been a rough few months for him. He's been cleared since February 6th but hasn't been brought to television taping since he left to have double ligament reconstruction surgery in October. He wrote:
I read all the texts I got that said, “you’re back on axxess???” I was kind to all the people at the gym asking if I’m retired. I swallowed my pride when agents and writers asked me if I was still hurt when completely healthy. And now here we are. April 4th, 2019 “When Worlds Collide” at Axxess. Luke Harper vs. Donovan Dijak.
Harper asks a rhetorical question about how he'll respond to having to start right back where he began everything with WWE? "How will I respond? How will I change things?" He says that for most this would be a throwaway match because it's Axxess. Not for him. He called this a test.
What This Means
He warned his opponent that he’d better not take overlook what this opportunity means for him. Harper is treating it like the actual WrestleMania event itself. As one of the top big men in the company, this is bad news for anyone who steps in the ring with him.
Harper is not slated to appear on the main card for WrestleMania 35 in any way but that doesn't mean he won't make a surprise appearance on the Sunday or two days that follow. Fans would certainly like to blessed with that surprise. And for good measure, throw Bray Wyatt in there too.
