Triple H and Kevin Nash have been friends since the mid 1990s. Terra Rising had a brief run under the WCW banner but he quickly jumped ship to WWE upon an offer from Vince McMahon. Once he got to the WWE, Paul Michael Levesque was welcomed as a member of the infamous Kliq faction, a group of wrestlers who held a good amount of influence backstage. Kevin Nash was a part of the group, and Triple H was initially recruited as a driver for the top superstars, but eventually Nash and Triple H and the rest of the folks became good friends.

Kevin Nash and Triple H remained close friends even after Nash went to WCW. Despite being on opposite sides, the friendship remained intact, and to this day, Nash and Levesque remain in contact. That being said, as close as they are as friends, Nash and Triple H do not get along inside the ring, or on television in general.
Kevin Nash and Triple H Did Not Click In The Ring
Chemistry is inherent and not something that can be created through hard work and practice. Nash and Triple H do not have sufficient chemistry with one another in ring, and this was apparent whenever they feuded on camera.
After WCW folded, Kevin Nash sat out his contract with AOL and then returned to WWE in 2002, as a part of the NWO stable. Mere months into his return, Nash tore his quad in a tag-team match, and he was sidelined for the next several months. By the time he had recovered, a lot had changed on WWE television. Triple H was the biggest heel on RAW, and he was locked in a bitter feud with Shawn Michaels, another friend of Kevin Nash.
Kevin Nash then attempted to get his two pals on the same side but neither Triple H nor HBK were too keen on the idea. This angle continued for a few weeks, but in the end Triple H turned on his old Kliq brethren when he hit Nash with a low blow and the two proceeded into a feud that was built up as friends turned bitter rivals. You would think that real life best friends would be able to keep a program going, but the feud was dreadful, from start to finish.
Kevin Nash got his shot at the world title at Judgement Day 2003 and the contest was an abject failure. That should have been the end of the storyline right there, but the company booked another match. This time it was Hell in a Cell, but that did little to bolster fan interest. WWE then introduced Mick Foley as a special guest referee in a desperate attempt to make the fans care, and they did, only for Foley. Triple H and Nash beat the hell out of each other inside the cell, but yet again, the match failed to deliver.
Mercifully, the feud was over but almost a decade later WWE had the bright idea of booking Kevin Nash versus Triple H again, and this time, it came at the expense of a super hot commodity in CM Punk. The first feud was boring but the second feud, in 2011, was both boring and overbooked.

Kevin Nash took out CM Punk at SummerSlam 2011 and we were thrust into a whole saga involving text messages, conspiracies, car crashes, sledgehammers and firings. Suddenly, the focus shifted from Punk and his revolution to a feud between Triple H and a guy who was barely mobile.
Triple H And Nash Meet In The Ring Again For An Even Worse Match
Once again, the two best friends became bitter rivals and Nash broke Triple H’s neck on an episode of RAW. The feud culminated in a sledgehammer ladder match at TLC 2011. The Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 2003 was boring but the TLC match in 2011 was even worse. As mentioned before, Kevin Nash was barely mobile due to his quad issues, and by the end of the match, the guy could not even stand up. Nash was in no shape to compete in a match, and God knows what compelled WWE to push the rivalry in 2011.
The storylines were generic and poorly booked. Both times, WWE pushed the rivalry as best friends turned bitter rivals and that was all. More importantly, Nash and Triple H just do not mesh together well in the ring. Triple H is a great ring general, and he can carry other wrestlers to a good match, but Nash, even back in 2003, could not hold his own due to injuries. Once again, chemistry is inherent and these two best friends just did not possess enough of it.
