Hell in a Cell saw a major change in the final hours leading up to the show, but the rest of the card came together rather quickly thanks to some final touches that were added on Friday's episode of SmackDown. Sunday's pay-per-view kicked off with Bayley vs. Bianca Belair in a cell and the chaos continued from there.

Cesaro and Seth Rollins put on a barn-burner, Alexa Bliss vs. Shayna Baszler was just weird, and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens had one of the more physical matches of the evening without being inside the cage. Rhea Ripley barely escaped with her championship, and Drew McIntyre

Here your winners and losers for WWE Hell in a Cell, June 20, 2021:

Winner: Strong Opener Between Belair And Bayley

Bayley was 0-1 inside the cell coming into Sunday's action. She was looking to change her fortunes versus the SmackDown Women's Champion. She came prepared as she pre-taped kendo sticks together and placed those, along with other materials under the ring that she intended to use. None of it mattered. Belair successfully defended her title and Bayley is now 0-2.

This was a great match to start the show. Everything was a weapon, including Belair's hair which was used in innovative and creative ways. She tied herself to the challenger and delivered a beating until Bayley got some of the momentum back. Ultimately, a Kiss of Death finisher on a ladder helped The EST retain. A strong finish with some good in-ring work and an excellent babyface-to-heel back-and-forth, both women performed well.

This will likely remove Bayley from the title picture and Belair will need a new challenger. It should be intriguing to see who creative chooses.

Winner: Rollins vs. Cesaro

This match was every bit as good as one might have expected considering the two men involved. While Cesaro seemed to have the edge more often than Rollins, there was never really a prolonged period of time where either men had a distinct advantage; the momentum swings were frequent. It was Rollins who stole the match with a roll up after a fair battle. A quick pin is typically the way these close matches go down when the two men are so close.

This finish leaves the possibility wide open that these two men aren't finished with their rivalry. Cesaro picked up a big win at WrestleMania, while Rollins got the win here. Some will call it a lackluster finish and many will be upset that Cesaro might be getting pushed to the back of the line again, but this isn't over yet. Rubber match anyone?

Loser: Alexa Bliss Defeats Shayna Baszler

After all the post-production and goofiness that was the buildup of the match between Shayna Baszler and Alexa Bliss, it was surprising not to see anything really odd on Sunday night. The last real chance WWE was going to have to provide a payoff without live fans, creative chose to limit Bliss' mind games to unsuccessfully suckering Baszler into a trance, but eventually controlling Nia Jax enough to slap the snot out of Reginald.

It was good to see Bliss get the decisive win, but this match felt like a missed opportunity. Bliss is great and this character is interesting, but it's starting to feel like WWE is trying too many different things with her. You can't just throw out every idea you have and build anything of substance. Honest question, can't Bliss just hypnotize her opponents into laying down and losing?

Bliss really believes in the character she's trying to offer fans and she's often the best part of Raw each week. This has gone into extremely hokey territory.

Winner: Owens vs. Zayn

First, this match was a slugfest and should have been inside a cell. Second, it was easily the most physical match of the night to that point with what many will feel is a shocking finish. Zayn picked up the clean win after a Helluva Kick.

The story of the match was Owens going in was hurt after being attacked by Commander Azeez. Owens sold that well throughout the start of the contest. It didn't take long for the battle between the to be the main reason Owens was hurting. He was a gamer, but he fought the entire match at a disadvantage. It was a masterful display of how to gain sympathy as a babyface that you respect because he just won't quit.

Not to be outdone, Zayn's mouth was busted up and it was nice to see him pick up a big win. His character can't lose all the time. We've seen this match a handful of times now, as many times as the revisit this feud and have another match, these two always work.

Winner/Loser: Ripley vs. Flair Ends In DQ

This was the fight everyone wanted. For that reason this match was excellent. Charlotte delivered most of the punishment and on multiple occasions she forced the champion to scream in pain. Ripley eventually got herself disqualified to hold onto her championship.

As physical an intense as the match was, the downside here was that half the contest felt like Ripley was playing the underdog babyface role. The other half, including the finish, she was the heel. That's not the best situation and a clear line of who's good and who's bad would help this feud out a great deal.

This rivalry is far from over. The fact the storyline suggests Ripley wiggled her way out of the match, despite showing a ton of muster and fortitude to come back from the agony of a weakened knee means she barely escaped with her title. Charlotte will get another shot.

Winner: Lashley Beats McIntyre With A Handful Of Tights

Some fans are going to hate that the rollup and a handful of tights was not the way to finish a brutal match, but it doesn't take anything away from how good the main event was on Sunday night. Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley beat the tar out of each other and made good use of the cell.

When the official got knocked out, a new referee tried to get in the ring which opened the door for MVP to get involved. He certainly did and it was his grabbing McIntyre's feet while trying to deliver a Claymore Kick, that led to Lashley being able to get the small package victory.

How ironic that McIntyre loses a chance to ever wrestle for the WWE Championship again on a move like that and after a match like that.
