Out since early May of 2023, WWE powerhouse Braun Strowman provided a long-awaited update on his recovery from a neck injury that necessitated cervical spinal fusion surgery. In a recent interview with India's News18, the former Universal Champion shared insights into his rehabilitation journey.
While he's not close to an in-ring return, Strowman revealed that he recently underwent a five-month check-up, receiving medical clearance to both travel and resume lifting weights. He noted that sitting around and being unable to lift led to a weight loss of 35 pounds, his focus is on putting the weight back on. He's got his sights set on a return in 2024, but it will take continued rehabilitation and regular check-ups.
Addressing the possibility of participating in the WWE Royal Rumble next month, Strowman suggested that probably wasn't realistic. He is committed to the recovery process and he's clearly diligent in doing the work needed to recover and maintain top physical health. But, no one wants him to rush back, especially considering the rigors of professional wrestling.
Strowman will start to fulfill promotional duties for WWE. From there, he says he might have to make slight changes to his wrestling style following the surgery. He doesn't believe those changes will be drastic.

The Monster Among Men and former WWE Universal Champion will be out of action for the foreseeable future.When it comes to approaching how he'll wrestle moving forward, he noted, "I'll be a little more cautious thinking because now that I have some hardware and stuff like that." He added:
"But at the end of the day, I don't know, I'm crazy. I've worked around the injuries. As I said earlier, my left leg is 15% paralyzed and it has been my entire career. I don't make excuses. I get it done."
How WWE intends to use him when he does return will be fascinating to watch. Will he be like Randy Orton and look better than ever? Will he try to reform his partnership with Ricochet? Thoes are all questions that will come as he gets back to 100%.
Still A Ways To Go For Strowman
The big takeaway from the interview is that he's beginning his journey back to WWE, but he's not close. In order to return as "The Monster Among Men", there's a certain standard he has to live up to. That's going to take work, dedication, and time considering what he's been through.
