He's not like most wrestlers with tons of muscle, but he never let that stop him from competing at an elite level throughout his in-ring career. 7 Early Years
Adam Cole was born on July 5, 1989, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and has one younger brother. Growing up in Manheim, Pennsylvania, he attended the Manheim Central High School, where he participated in amateur wrestling.
His parents separated when he was around ten years old, but that did not stop him from having a normal childhood. After watching legends like Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin perform, he developed a passion for pro wrestling at a very young age. He cited catching a glimpse of WCW Thunder on TV as one of his first encounters with pro wrestling, and it turned out to be his whole life as he ventured into the sport as his heart desired.
6 Wrestling Beginnings
Adam Cole started his pro wrestling training while he was still a senior in high school. He chose to drop out and enrolled in Combat Zone Wrestling's wrestling school and trained under D. J. Hyde and Jon Dahmer.

He made his in-ring debut at an American Championship Pro Wrestling event in April 2008 and made his CZW debut at the CZW No Pun Intended event in June 2008. He continued to spend his early days in the business competing in various independent promotions around Pennsylvania before he branched out to more significant companies.
5 Independent Circuit
Adam Cole continued to explore the independent circuit, honing his skills in the process, and also went by the name Adam Carelle while working for promotions like Eastern Wrestling Association and MCW Pro Wrestling between 2008 and 2009.
He won several championships at the time, including the MCW Rage Television Championship, the WXW Ultimate Hybrid Championship, and the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship, which he held for an impressive 554 days. These accolades worked as a stepping stone for Adam Cole to breach into higher grounds and reach even greater heights as the years went by.
4 Ring of Honor & PWG
After competing across several small independent promotions, Adam Cole got his first big break when he made his debut for Ring of Honor in 2009. He signed a contract with the company the following year and went on to make his debut for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in 2011.
He won the ROH World Television Championship by defeating Roderick Strong in June 2012 and held it for an impressive 246 days. He also captured the PWG World Championship in December 2012 and held it for 538 days, and won the ROH World Championship in September 2013, which he held for 275 days.
3 Bullet Club
Adam Cole joined The Bullet Club faction at the 2016 Global Wars PPV, where The Young Bucks introduced him as the newest member of the group.

During his time in the faction, Adam Cole went on to have two more runs with the ROH World Championship. He represented the Bullet Club in several matches during the period, and he entered into a storyline in early 2017, which saw him showing some tension with the group's leader, Kenny Omega, with The Young Bucks caught in the middle. It eventually led to Omega and The Bucks kicking Cole out of the group in March 2017 and giving his place to Marty Scurll, who defeated Cole in his ROH farewell match.
2 WWE Debut & Various Accolades
Adam Cole signed a contract with WWE in August 2017 and made his debut for NXT at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 3. He reunited with Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish and attacked newly crowned NXT Champion Drew McIntyre.
Cole formed The Undisputed Era faction following his debut and went on to become one of the faces of NXT. He became the inaugural North American Champion and became the longest-reigning NXT Champion of all time when he held the title for an impressive 396 days.
He led the group in several high-profile matches throughout their time together before eventually breaking up and going their own ways.
1 WWE Exit & AEW Debut
During Adam Cole's final days with WWE, rumors of the main roster creative team wanting to cut his hair short and making him the on-screen manager of Keith Lee broke out. Many fans believed that was the reason behind Adam Cole leaving WWE in 2021, and it proved to be true after AEW stars like John Silver and MJF used it to taunt Cole following his debut with the company.
Cole made his debut for AEW at the 2021 All Out PPV and reunited with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. He then went on to win the inaugural Owen Hart Foundation tournament and continued to be a regular part of AEW television before entering his current entertaining storyline with MJF.
