For most aspiring professional wrestlers, the dream goal is to land a WWE contract and officially become a WWE Superstar, with Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown being seen as the promised land.
While there is no doubt that WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world that can produce megastars such as John Cena or The Rock, that doesn't mean that everything about being a WWE Superstar is great.

Being a full-time wrestler at the very top of the industry is certainly a brilliant achievement, but as with any high-pressure job it has its ups and downs, and within this list, we will rank the five best and worst things about being a WWE Superstar.
10 Best: Achieve The Dream
As we mentioned at the start of this list, for the vast majority of professional wrestlers, the dream goal is to be a WWE Superstar, following in the footsteps of legends like Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, and Steve Austin.
Being able to call yourself a WWE Superstar is the ultimate goal for a wrestler, and simply being able to do that is one of the best things about working for the company, seeing themselves on advertisements and posters.
While that novelty might wear off after a certain period of time, there is no doubt that at first, it is incredibly exciting to be able to say it, and achieving the goal is certainly worth celebrating.
9 Worst: Lack Of Wrestling Focus
For some wrestlers who might be more gifted on the microphone, this is probably one of the major positives about WWE, but for many great in-ring technicians then there is no doubt it is a major negative to working for the company.

WWE might be a wrestling company, but the focus really is on the entertainment aspect of the shows, from promos to backstage skits, the wrestlers are often forced to go far beyond their comfort zones.
For those wrestlers who simply want to get in the ring and put on a 30-minute masterpiece every night, there is really going to be a problem.
8 Best: Charity Work
Something that WWE is very good at is charity work, and whether you like the company or not it can't be argued that they do their bit to try and make the world a better place, working with the likes of Make A Wish and Connor's Cure, which the company actually created.
Getting to go and cheer up sick children around the world or having the chance to entertain the troops with a wrestling show is an experience that WWE provides its wrestlers on a regular basis.
While getting in the ring and doing a great job is fun, it is moments like this that make being a WWE Superstar so rewarding for the talent.
7 Worst: Backstage Politics
This is a negative that just follows wrestling around in general, as backstage politics being an issue isn't something exclusive to WWE, as even the smallest independents in the world suffer from this problem.

However, because WWE is such a gigantic company with so many moving parts and major personalities, the backstage politics within the WWE bubble can be even worse than in other places.
This is something that can be incredibly difficult to navigate and has cost people their jobs in the past, proving just how frustrating the situation can be.
6 Best: Financially Stable
While wrestlers might all claim that they do the job for the love of the sport and because they couldn't imagine themselves doing anything else, the fact is that money makes the world go round.
One thing that every WWE Superstar has in common is financial security, with WWE paying their talents handsomely, regardless of where they are on the card, but especially in the main event scene.
However, now with AEW around, even talent who are simply used to put people over and spend the majority of their time in catering are now earning the best money of their careers.
5 Worst: The Company Is Petty
In most places of work, if you do something wrong you are disciplined and then things move on. But in the world of WWE, that discipline normally takes place inside the ring and lasts for several weeks.
WWE is known for being a very petty environment where wrestlers who make mistakes often being punished on television by being beaten in a squash match or by being placed into a ridiculous storyline to embarrass them.
The company has even become petty about injuries, adding time onto contracts due to time missed, and let's not forget they fired CM Punk on his wedding day.
4 Best: WrestleMania
This is one of the biggest benefits to being a WWE Superstar, with wrestlers having the chance to wrestle on the biggest show of the year if they are good enough, as no matter what other shows take place during a year, WrestleMania is the be-all and end-all.
They call it the Grandest Stage Of Them All for a reason, and with the shows taking place in some of the biggest stadiums in the world, it is not overhyped, with these shows being unbelievable spectacles.

While they might not be the best pure wrestling shows from bell to bell, WrestleMania is an event unlike anything else and being part of it is one of the best things about being a WWE Superstar.
3 Worst: No Creative Control
One of the biggest negatives to working in WWE is the fact that nearly all creative control is taken away from the wrestlers, who for the majority of their careers prior to that will no doubt have been in charge of every decision, every promo, and every booking.
The fact is that when you enter WWE, it is down to Vince McMahon and his writing team to determine what a wrestler will do, making the decisions about characters and promos, even if the wrestler doesn't agree.
While there are a few very rare exceptions like The Rock or The Undertaker, where the wrestler is trusted enough to do anything they like, for the most part, creative control is something a WWE Superstar simply doesn't have.
2 Best: Become A Global Superstar
While companies like Ring Of Honor, IMPACT, and AEW are great places to work as a professional wrestler, none of those will give a wrestler the global recognition that being on WWE television will.
AEW may one day reach that goal, but it is still a long way away, whereas WWE can offer fame and glory to anyone who appears, with Raw and SmackDown being broadcast live all around the world.

While becoming famous might not be on the top of everyone's list, it certainly has its perks that cannot be denied, and therefore this is one of the best things about being in the company.
1 Worst: Constant Travel
If you read or listen to any interview with a current or former WWE Superstar, they will all give the exact same reason as to what the worst thing about being a WWE Superstar is, and that is the schedule and the grueling travel.
WWE put on that many live events and shows throughout the course of a year that the WWE Superstars are barely ever home, constantly on the road and living out of hotels, it is a very difficult way to live.
While traveling the world and being paid to do it might seem amazing when you do it every single week without a break it can take its toll on the body, especially when you're a huge wrestler being stuck in confined spaces for long periods of time.
