The South Korean born Chan Sung Jung, more affectionately known as The Korean Zombie is a fan favorite of the UFC with an almost cult-like following since his early days in MMA.

10 Nick Name: The Korean Zombie
Known for his slow, stalking, and forward pressure style and his ability to take an immense amount of punishment yet still move forward, Chan Sung Jung was given the nickname the Korean Zombie. He even says he doesn't blink in fights.
He has grown into the nickname over the years, requesting the UFC uses that instead of his name, in addition to walking out to the song Zombie by The Cranberries.
9 Drawn To MMA At An Early Age
As a child, Chan Sung Jung was smaller and was constantly bullied by his classmates. He ended up getting into a lot of fights in school and got beat up a lot in school.
Realizing the issues at hand, his aunt took him to a local gym where Chan Sung Jung began training in kickboxing at the age of 14. It wasn't long before he discovered he had a knack for him, setting him up to be a fearsome MMA fighter.
8 MMA Expertise
Chan Sung Jung then fell in love with martial arts. After picking up kickboxing he quickly added Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo to his repertoire as well.
Then at the age of 18, Chan Sung Jung joined the South Korean Navy where he began studying Taekwondo and competing in Sambo in local tournaments. All of these skills ultimately aided him in his career as a fighter.
7 WEC
Chan Sung Jung had his first MMA outing in front of western viewers at WEC 48, where he faced the former WEC title challenger and another fan favorite Leonard Garcia.
Chan lost the back and forth fight via split decision. The bout did end up winning the Fight of the Night and has been hailed as one of the best MMA fights ever.
6 Leonard Garcia Rivalry
Shortly after his WEC debut, the UFC folded the WEC ranks into itself and set up a rematch between Garcia and Chan Sung Jung. They met again at UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs Davis.

Chan Sung Jung won the fight via submission. He caught Garcia in a Twister, a spine contorting submission which he reportedly learned from YouTube videos made by Eddie Bravo. Chan Sung Jung won Submission of the Night honors for the first-ever Twister in the UFC.
5 UFC
The UFC realized they had an up-and-coming star from a new region and were immensely excited about their new fighter Chan Sung Jung. They were ready to start putting him into bigger fights.
Immediately after the Garcia fight, he was set to fight former featherweight title challenger Mark Hominick. Chan Sung Jung landed a strong right hand and ended the fight in 7 seconds.
4 Climbing The Featherweight Ranks
Chan Sung Jung was then given his first main event spot against another surging featherweight, Dustin Poirier. The two matched up in a tough contest. After Chan Sung Jung landed a big uppercut in the fourth round, he was able to put Dustin to sleep with a D'Arce choke, winning Submission of the Night honors.
Chan Sung Jung was then given a title shot against José Aldo. He lost via TKO in the fourth round. After the loss, Chan Sung Jung took some time away from MMA.
3 Military Stint
Every young man in South Korea is required to spend 2 years in military service between the age of 18 and 35. After his title loss, Chan Sung Jung elected to start his military service.
His management team was clear that after his compulsory military service he would return to fight in the UFC.
2 Return To The UFC
After two years away Jung was given another main event slot against a new up-and-coming fighter Dennis Bermudez. People were curious if after such a long time away if he could still compete at the highest level.

Right as the commentary team was noting how The Korean Zombie carries his hands low, anticipating Bermudez to take advantage of it, The Korean Zombie landed a huge uppercut and put Bermudez to sleep.
1 Beating A Legend
The UFC targeted another main event slot for The Korean Zombie against the legend Frankie Edgar. This was to be the UFC's first event in Busan, South Korea.
The Korean Zombie electrified the hometown crowd, finishing Frankie Edgar in the first round via TKO. The fight earned The Korean Zombie a Performance of the Night bonus.
