For fifteen years, Sheamus has been signed to the WWE and has been one of the most consistent and reliable performers that the company has on offer. His quality has never deteriorated, with him being trusted upon in any and every division, whether it be being a world champion, tag champion, or someone to put others over.

Over the course of his career, which began all the way back in 2004, there are likely to be several matches which fans forget that Sheamus competed in, whether that be due to having an unlikely opponent, a forgettable match, or simply due to the sheer number of matches he has been in, making it impossible to remember them all.
10 Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan, WrestleMania 27 Pre-Show, 3rd April 2011
At WrestleMania 28, Sheamus sensationally squashed Daniel Bryan in one of the most infamous title changes in history, but one year earlier they actually battled at the Show of Shows once again, though their United States Title match isn’t remembered due to it being bumped to the pre-show.
Instead of being given time to work a good match, this was cut short due to the lumberjacks at ringside breaking into a brawl, leading to an impromptu battle royal to be booked. Instead of spotlighting Sheamus or Bryan, the winner was The Great Khali.
9 Sheamus Vs 3MB, Raw, 14th January 2013
This was a very strange match in the build to the 2013 Royal Rumble, as comedy jobbers 3MB faced Sheamus in a 3-on-1 Handicap Over The Top Rope Challenge. Instead of making the previous Rumble winner look strong, the trio actually won the match!
Whilst it wasn’t clean, with 3MB working together to eliminate Sheamus even after McIntyre and Mahal had been thrown out, it was still crazy to see them get a win. Naturally, Sheamus attacked them all after the bell to stand tall.
8 The Bar Vs DIY, SmackDown, 19th February 2019
If given twenty minutes to work with, these four men would likely have put on a classic. However, during the brief and strange period in which Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were called up to the main roster, they faced The Bar in a very average match.
This is largely forgotten about due to DIY almost immediately going back down to NXT due to Ciampa’s injury, but it was no less weird to see these two bitter enemies team up on an episode of SmackDown to battle Sheamus and Cesaro.
7 Ricky Steamboat Vs Sheamus, WWE House Show, 6th June 2009
These two men are from two completely different generations, so seeing that they actually went head-to-head is a surreal thing. It was also something that went very under the radar too, as it took place on a house show.
After 15 years away from the ring, one of the greatest of all time Ricky Steamboat returned to battle Chris Jericho in a brief feud. Following its culmination, Steamboat worked the house show circuit for a couple of months, and one of his opponents was Sheamus.
6 Sheamus Vs CM Punk, Main Event, 2nd October 2012
Most fans will either fully ignore WWE’s Main Event weekly show or have completely forgotten about its existence. Either way, the show is a place to house lower card performers or to trial out development talent.

However, back in 2012, WWE attempted to make it mean something as the first episode saw the WWE Champion CM Punk battle World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in a blockbuster Champion vs Champion match. Main Event is far from what WWE hoped it would be a decade later.
5 Sheamus Vs Apollo Crews, Money In The Bank, 19th June 2016
In 2016, Sheamus had dropped down the card quite a bit, with him being in the position of putting others over. One of these instances came at the Money in the Bank PPV in 2016 as he battled newcomer Apollo Crews.
Crews won the match, with this simply being a way to get him a big win following his debut on the main roster. This match didn’t really do him any favors as his career in WWE has been largely lackluster ever since.
4 Sheamus & Gene Okerlund Vs Alberto Del Rio & Daniel Bryan, SmackDown, 10th April 2012
On an old school episode of SmackDown, the General Manager at the time, John Laurinaitis, decided to punish Sheamus for attacking a referee one week prior, by booking him in a tag team match with legendary announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund as his tag team partner.
This was only Okerlund’s fourth ever match, with his last coming 12 years ago in WCW. Unsurprisingly, Okerlund did very little in this match, and he was saved during the finish by a gang of legends including Roddy Piper, Jim Duggan, Pat Patterson, Dusty Rhodes, and more. It was certainly an odd main event of SmackDown, to say the least.
3 Sheamus Vs Zack Ryder, Raw, 16th August 2010
On paper, a match between Sheamus and Zack Ryder doesn’t sound like anything too notable. However, this match was for the WWE Championship, and it is among the quickest matches in WWE history.
It took Sheamus just 10 seconds to win this match, making him look strong during his second reign as the titleholder early into his career, and whilst it isn’t the shortest WWE Championship match of all time, it is very near the top of that list, making it quite a historic contest that isn’t often spoken about.
2 Sheamus Vs Batista, SmackDown 28th March 2014
When looking at the careers of Sheamus and Batista, it is easy to forget that there was a brief crossover period within their times on the WWE main roster. Back in 2009, they didn’t have a match, but in 2014, they battled in what many saw as a small-scale dream match between two powerhouses.

Unfortunately, their first match ended in DQ, and whilst they would have a rematch not long after, it wasn’t anything special, with the fans not being into anything Batista was doing at the time.
1 Sheamus Vs Luke Harper, NXT, 24th June 2013
Sheamus was someone who came to WWE’s main roster before NXT was ever in existence, so to see him rock up in developmental was very strange to see. This was a marquee episode as it saw Paige become the NXT Women’s Champion, so this is likely why Sheamus was brought in, as a way to bring more eyes to the show.
He battled Luke Harper in a fine main event between two brutes, although it wasn’t anything overly special. Sheamus’ small cameo in NXT has certainly been forgotten about though.
