10 Samoa Joe Shoves MJF
The history between Samoa Joe and MJF dates back several years ago, even before the inception of AEW. Back at NXT Takeover in 2016, Samoa Joe, the reigning NXT Champion, was making his way from the backstage hallway to the entrance ramp, and he casually shoved aside a security guard. Interestingly, the security guard was none other than a young MJF.
7 years later, at AEW All Out, Samoa Joe emerged and forcefully shoved MJF aside while making his entrance, but this time MJF had the opportunity to settle the score and fight back against Joe.
9 Chicago Screwjob
The Montreal Screwjob is undoubtedly one of the most talked about moments in WWE's history. As it was one of the most famous match finishes ever, WWE indeed made several efforts to reference the controversial incident.
One such instance occurred 19 years after the original Montreal Screwjob when Bret Hart accompanied his niece Natalya as a companion against Charlotte Flair. In a deliberate attempt to replicate the Montreal Screwjob right in front of Bret Hart, Charlotte executed the Sharpshooter on Natalya, and the referee promptly called for the bell to ring even though Natalya didn't tap out.
8 Cody Rhodes's "Stardust Tease" At WrestleMania 38
Cody Rhodes's comeback at WrestleMania 38 was highly anticipated after weeks of non-stop speculation, rumors, and teases. He was unveiled as Seth Rollins's mystery opponent and in a thrilling match, he emerged victorious.

One particularly noteworthy moment during the match was when Cody referenced his Stardust gimmick by doing a catwheel and a hand gesture. What's interesting to note is that Cody's last WrestleMania appearance before his return was under his "Stardust" persona.
7 Milk-O-Mania
Just like Steve Austin's iconic beer bath on Mr. McMahon and The Rock two years prior, Kurt Angle made a grand entrance in a milk truck in 2001 during The Invasion Angle. Angle has often expressed that it was his favorite non-match moment of his entire career.
Fast-forward 21 years later, Kurt decided to relive this iconic moment as a part of his birthday celebrations when The Alpha Academy began feasting on his birthday cake. Accompanied by Gable Steveson, Angle doused The Alpha Academy through his iconic Milk Truck.
6 Hurricane's Double Chokeslam Attempt
The Hurricane's surprise appearance at The 2021 Royal Rumble brought back memories of his previous appearance in the 2002 Royal Rumble. In both instances, he entered at the #23 spot and attempted a daring move against multiple opponents, only to be quickly eliminated.
In 2002, he attempted to do a double chokeslam on Triple H and Steve Austin with overenthusiasm, only to be eliminated in 39 seconds. Fast-forward to 2021, The Hurricane's return lasted a mere 30 seconds as he again hilariously tried to attempt a double chokeslam on Big E and Bobby Lashley.
5 Seth Rollins Pays Homage To Shawn Michaels
In May 2023, Seth Rollins and Rhea Ripley recreated a humorous and iconic moment involving Shawn Michaels and Melina from Survivor Series 2006. In the original match, while the action was underway, Shawn Michaels playfully sneaked out of the ring and embraced Melina, who mistakenly believed him to be Johnny Nitro.
The memorable 10-second interaction remained iconic for many years so when Seth Rollins recreated this moment with Rhea Ripley 16 years later, fans instantly recognized the homage to Shawn Michaels.
4 Cena Attempts The People's Elbow
The Rock famously won his WrestleMania 28 match against John Cena when Cena attempted to mock him with the People's elbow but was eventually outmaneuvered by him. A year later, they squared off once again, and there was a clever callback to their previous encounter.

Cena attempted The People's Elbow once again, but he was quick to learn from his previous mistake and quickly backtracked. The Rock, however, had Cena scouted and countered him with a Rock bottom, resulting in another epic near fall.

The "This Is Your Life" segment in 1999, hosted by Mankind in celebration of The Rock still remains the highest-rated non-wrestling segment in wrestling television history. Due to the overwhelming success of the segment, WWE has attempted to recreate the magic, but it has often fallen short.
18 Years later, Bayley's "This Is Your Life" segment terribly failed to match up to the hype as it was widely criticized for its poor execution and boring pacing. It served as an example that not every recreation will achieve the same level of success and appreciation.
2 "You Still Suck"
In 2002, Edge played a memorable prank on Kurt Angle that became the stuff of legends. This prank was instrumental in leading fans to chant "You Suck" in synchronization with Angle's theme song, creating an enduring element of his character.
Fast-forward 20 years to August 2022, fans were treated to a nostalgic callback when Edge and Angle recreated this classic moment. This time, Edge threw in some additional secret insults.
1 Roman's Revenge
Roman Reigns has experienced multiple betrayals throughout his career. The first significant betrayal occurred in 2014 when Seth Rollins turned on Reigns and Ambrose causing the famous implosion of The Shield. Years later at The 2022 Royal Rumble, Roman had his opportunity for revenge against Rollins. In the climax, Reigns brutally attacked Seth with a steel chair, and it provided him with a long-awaited chance to settle the score.
A year later in 2023, in one of the hottest angles of The Bloodline, Sami Zayn famously made his choice and cracked Roman's back with a steel chair after Roman pressured him to attack Kevin Owens. Call it a tribute or a callback, but WWE once again recreated The Shield breakup but with Sami and Roman in the picture this time.
