Just in case calling it Backlash wasn't evidence enough that the first PPV after WrestleMania is all about the follow-up to the biggest show of the year, WWE has gone ahead and changed its name to WrestleMania Backlash. That show is almost upon us and despite its name, it doesn't feature a single WrestleMania rematch. That's somewhat of a relief after WWE has already staged more than half of the WrestleMania 37 card again across the last month of Raws and SmackDowns.
The card does smack of WrestleMania feuds though, but it's supposed to. Since WrestleMania marks the end of the last chapter and the start of a new one, odds are nothing major will change this Sunday. You never do know though, and this is everything we think will go down at WrestleMania Backlash, including the most important element of all, who's winning what?

Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman for the WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley
To avoid staging a WrestleMania rematch that has already been repeated since the show of shows, Braun Strowman has been shoehorned into this match. That plus WWE using Strowman like a young Big Show almost definitely means he won't be winning this title for the first time in his career on Sunday. There's an outside chance Drew McIntyre wins and becomes WWE Champion for the third time. The reaction he got at WrestleMania could have higher-ups rethinking their decisions. However, the most likely outcome here is Bobby Lashley staying the course and retaining his title.
Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka for the Raw Women's Championship: Charlotte Flair
Whether they want to admit it or not, WWE was desperate to add Charlotte Flair to the Raw Women's Title match at WrestleMania. With fans in attendance, that ran the risk of The Queen being booed and WWE's facade being blown. The company is desperate to have Flair win as many championships as possible as fast as possible so she can surpass her own father's record. Flair has even been counting NXT and Tag Title reigns in her tally. We fully expect her to add one more legitimate win to her total this Sunday at Backlash.
Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro for the Universal Championship
Almost a decade after his WWE debut, Cesaro will finally compete in a singles match for a World Title for the very first time. After having watched The Swiss Cyborg for all that time, and seeing what he did with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, we have no doubt this one will almost definitely be match of the night. It isn't going to be the feel-good moment most fans are hoping for though, nor should it be. Reigns is on a tear right now and the longer that lasts, the better. Cesaro will take him to his limit, but the Universal Title will remain over the shoulder of The Tribal Chief.
Bianca Belair vs. Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship: Bianca Belair
While Rollins and Cesaro might have stolen the show at WrestleMania, their match didn't have the historical significance Bianca Belair's win carried. Not only because Belair won the title, but because she and Sasha Banks were the first two black women to headline WrestleMania. In terms of opponents, things aren't getting any easier for Belair. Bayley missed out on a WrestleMania match which might well make her even more of a threat at Backlash. We still don't think she'll win, though. Belair to retain in this one.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode vs. Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships: Rey and Dominik Mysterio
A little bit more history might be made at WrestleMania Backlash this Sunday should the SmackDown Tag Team Titles change hands. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode will defend their championships against the father-son duo of Rey and Dominik Mysterio. WWE has been hammering home that a father-son team has never held tag team gold in WWE before. So much so that we are now convinced it will happen for the first time ever this Sunday. A great decision if for no other reason than the titles have become very forgettable around the waists of their current holders.
Damian Priest vs. The Miz in a Lumberjack Match: Damian Priest
Bad Bunny shocked the world when he showed The Miz and John Morrison what he was capable of at WrestleMania. We still think about that Canadian Destroyer on the outside every single day. The Miz probably does too, but despite Bad Bunny returning to the music world, he has a bigger problem at WrestleMania Backlash. While the rapper is gone, Damian Priest still remains. What's more, the ring on Sunday will be surrounded by lumberjacks to make sure The Miz doesn't escape. He has been known to do that in the past. Priest to win this one and to hopefully move on to something newer and bigger.
