On Monday Night Raw, WWE was building toward WrestleMania 40, with the red brand offering several developments. Jey Uso confronted Jimmy to open the show, while a tag team qualifying match stole the first hour. Cody cut a fire promo, and the main event was a Last Woman Standing match between Nia Jax and Becky Lynch.

Here are your winners and losers for Raw, on March 18, 2024:

Winner/Loser: Jey and Jimmy Come to Blows

The extremely popular Jey Uso opened the show and called out Jimmy. Accompanied by his younger brother Solo Sikoa, Jimmy ignored Jey's pleas to come back to the right side and said he was responsible for the newfound popularity Jey is experiencing on the red brand. Noting that he's the reason for Jey's biggest moment, Jey disagreed and said his biggest moment would come when he beat Jimmy at WrestleMania. Jey decked Jimmy, took a shot at Solo and walked into a super kick. As Solo and Jimmy went to attack Jey, Cody Rhodes made the save.

This was a solid segment. The only question mark was including Cody in it. While he's got a history with Jey, Cody's storyline feels bigger than this match and making his first appearance on Raw a quick run-in took the air out of his later response to The Rock.

Winner: DIY Going to WrestleMania

For the first time in 10 years, both Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa will wrestle on the biggest stage in the industry. Neither has appeared at WrestleMania and after defeating The Creed Brothers in an incredible tag qualifying match, they're both going to the show.

This was a fantastic back-and-forth with some memorable moments. This was also the right choice. The Creeds will have plenty of chances to show their stuff on a WrestleMania stage. They're too good to be denied for long. Getting Gargano and Ciampa there was a feel-good moment.

Winner: Candice LeRae

This was a short, but effective segment. The idea was to sell Candice's motives as questionable and the decision to have her attack the seemingly injured leg of Katana Chance was sneaky-good. She attacked the second she saw the open door to go after the leg and make Chance tap out. Indi Hartwell didn't love the decision. This is an entertaining version of her character and how far WWE pushes this should be fun to watch.

Winner: Cody Rhodes Promo

Cody got real in his promo to open the second hour of the show. Addressing The Rock and his desire to call himself a "heel", Cody said he's not actually a heel, he's an a--hole. He then called him a whiny bitch after his desire to come back to "save WWE" didn't go as planned. He then got into talking about mothers. Saying his mom isn't afraid of anything, including The Rock,

He then said when WrestleMania comes around, what's going to happen? Will The Rock bring his "Big Dwayne Energy"? or will he have little di-k syndrome? He then said The Rock isn't The Final Boss, he's just Roman's side chick.

Paul Heyman then came out to the ring. Heyman told Cody if Rhodes shows up at SmackDown to go face-to-face with Roman Reigns, Reigns will be alone. Cody said deal. Heyman then said he forgot one little detail. If Roman Reigns shows up alone this Friday on SmackDown, Cody has to as well.

For everyone wondering if The Rock's promos were a bit off the PG path, Cody's promo showed that WWE doesn't seem overly concerned about it. Cody had some bite in his promo and it's clear Heyman is up to something. This was a strong segment.

Winner: Ricochet vs. Dominik Mysterio

Instructed to do what JD McDonagh couldn't do last week during the IC Gauntlet Match, Dirty Dom was to take care of Ricochet. The announce crew took a few shots at Dom saying if he were to have a wedding, he's the kind of person that would get booed. Michael Cole added he's the kind of person whose own wedding party would boo him. (Fans who know are aware that his wedding party had some fun when Dominik got married and he was booed at his own wedding last week).

Despite the number disadvantage, Ricochet was able to get the pin on Dom. Ricochet is starting to make a habit out of embarrassing Judgment Day.

Winner: Intercontinental WM Match Contract Signing

Backstage, Sami Zayn bumped into Chad Gable and tried to thank him for the match last week that saw Zayn qualify to face Gunther at WrestleMania. Gable had some attitude and when Zayn wanted to know why his frustration was being directed towards him, Gable said he was upset Zayn moved on because he couldn't beat Gunther.

After the commercial, the table was set up for the contract signing. Gunther asked why Zayn showed up to such an important event dressed like a bum and Zayn said it wasn't wise for Gunther to look through Zayn and underestimate him. He signed the contract. Gunther said that he would destroy Zayn's dreams and that Sami would face a harsh reality in that there's a good reason everyone should doubt him. Zayn left the ring upset and the question is whether Sami has turned himself into a believer or if he's still unsure.

Where Chad Gable fits into all of this should be intriguing.

Loser: Miz and R-Truth Defeat Indus Sher

In a qualifying match for the tag team titles, WWE decided to go the comedic route and have R-Truth fall into a cover on Veer to move forward. There's a time and a place for goofy and with R-Truth, it's 90 percent of the time. This was one of the 10 percent where it would have been nice to have every team earn their way into contention. This wasn't a good look for Indus Sher.

Winner: Promo Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre was announced after the commercial, but during his entrance was cut off by Seth Rollins' music. The two started their promo in the ring together and Rollins claimed he was a spotlight junkie. Drew said everything was a joke, but Rollins said he was not joking. He craves the rush that comes from the feeling he gets from the crowd. He then said he's taking his match with Drew seriously and knows the spotlight will be on them both on Night Two.

McIntyre said Rollins' priorities are all wrong and Seth is searching for the wrong spotlight. McIntyre says he doesn't care anymore and he's going to get the moment he's earned. Rollins then asked who the spotlight addict was now. Rollins claimed that McIntyre is going to crumble under the brightest spotlight there is.

This was a solid promo and while there were references to Rollins' program with The Bloodline, it was nice to have these two focus solely on each other.

Winner/Loser: New Day Qualifies for WrestleMania

Another fitting choice will see New Day back in a big match at WrestleMania. This bout was fine, but it was predictable. It would have been an odd choice to push Alpha Academy over New Day. The best part of this segment might have been Pat McAfee running down a replay of the big moments on the illustrator.

Winner: Nia Jax vs. Becky Lynch Last Woman Standing

The main event was likely the final bou between Lynch and Jax and it was a grueling Last Man Standing match. The match almost got hijacked by the crowd who jumped on the two women for not being able to properly set up a table, but the match was still strong and the tables eventually became part of the storyline. Lynch landed a Manhandle Slam through the table near the closing moments which got a "Holy Sh--" from the crowd. Somehow Jax was still able to get to her feet. Lynch climbed the ladder and waited for a dazed Jax to lean over the table to brace herself. She hit the leg drop and Jax couldn't get up.

It was a great finish to a big-time main-event match. Lynch sold the toll the match took on her while she sat in the ring. That gave Rhea Ripley enough time to come out to the ring. Ripley climbed into the ring, Lynch stood up and the show closed with the two WrestleMania opponents standing face to face.
