Vince McMahon receives more and more criticism for the product WWE puts out with each passing year. Fans unhappy with the sort of stuff WWE and its Superstars do in the present day might long for times gone by, or perhaps question exactly when McMahon will give up some of his power or step aside entirely, presumably allowing other members of his family to take the reins as his father once did for him.
Vince McMahon's Mom Passes Away
Well, if the chairman's genes are anything to go by, McMahon won't be stepping down for a little while yet. Although Vince McMahon Sr. died at the age of 69, the WWE boss's mother lived to an incredibly impressive 101, passing away earlier this month. Vicki Askew, who lived in Woodlands, Texas, died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes according to her obituary.

As for the strength of those Askew/McMahon genes, the mother of the WWE chairman was reportedly an avid tennis player and apparently played right up until she was 94. While McMahon has likely gone far harder in terms of pouring everything into his career, hitting the gym regardless of the time of day, and seemingly never sleeping, that would imply he still has a least another decade of working in WWE full time before he even thinks about starting to wind down.
The Extended McMahon Family
Askew and McMahon's father were actually divorced, splitting up after having Vince and the WWE owner's brother, Rod. McMahon's brother is something of an enigma in the wrestling business, but passed away at 77 just last year. It's believed there was a time when Rod McMahon was going to be brought into the fold, back when Vince faked his death in a limo explosion. Rod would have stepped in to take over the company for the purposes of an on-screen angle.
Askew passed away on January 20 and her funeral took place two days later. A memorial for her was also held on January 29. It's unclear whether McMahon took any time off to grieve or if he was backstage at the Royal Rumble over the weekend. Our thoughts go out to the WWE chairman and all of his family at this time.
