These two world class in-ring performers have never faced off in a professional wrestling ring, and with Danielson on his way out of a full-time schedule, AEW should pull the trigger on this before Danielson really does start to slow down. With Will Ospreay set to face off with Konosuke Takeshita of the Don Callis Family, it feels likely that a feud will spark between Ospreay and the faction. Even though it logically makes sense given their history, Ospreay & Chris Jericho could be set to team up to face a common enemy.

However, we want to see Ospreay far away from Jericho. Due to unfortunate headlines, everything concerning Jericho feels quite cold right now, and Ospreay does not need to have his momentum affected the moment he steps foot in AEW full time.

In NJPW, Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada had a series of eight singles matches over the years, all of which just got better and better. These two have showcased an unreal amount of chemistry, and whilst booking it straight away would perhaps be a mistake if they both signed with the company, Tony Khan should book it eventually.

AEW is a promotion which values in-ring work, so not going forward with a match with the potential to steal any show it's on would be a mistake.

Both in NJPW and AEW over the last year or so, Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega have had two match of the year candidates which have stolen the show. They have one victory apiece, and fans want to see a rubber match.

Given the quality of these matches, this could very well headline an AEW PPV and provide yet another match of the year quality match. If this took place, it could go down as one of the best trilogies in modern day wrestling.

Will Ospreay Needs A Run In The Continental Classic

AEW’s first Continental Classic in 2023 was a big success, with some big names, great matches, and an invested audience. Eddie Kingston’s win at World’s End was well received too. Following this up in 2024 with another lineup of huge stars would be a good idea, and Will Ospreay should be involved.

His performances in the G1 Climax have shown how great he can be in a round robin format and competing regularly over several weeks to steal the show over and over again.

A Hardcore Feud With Jon Moxley Would Be Great

• It would give Ospreay a different match style

In NJPW, Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley clashed over the IWGP United States Championship, though they only ended up having one singles match back in 2022. A feud between these two men in AEW would be great for both men, and it would allow Ospreay to showcase a more hardcore style and a different type of match to. It is something which has been teased already. In an interview in NJPW, Moxley said their story had only just started.

“If Will wasn’t done, I wasn’t gonna be done. So, if Will wants to keep it going, if he just wants to call that chapter one, then let’s just say that was chapter one. Just the beginning, just the preamble. Will Ospreay and I have barely even begun.”

For this reason, fans want to see him headline All In at Wembley Stadium. It was great seeing him last year against Chris Jericho, but even in the time since, his star power has grown, and him in the main event match at the show could be one of the most special things put forth by AEW.

Will Ospreay’s presentation in NJPW was pretty spot on, and one part of that was his incredible entrance theme, “Elevated”. It is intense, epic, and it brings about audience participation as they chant his name.

AEW need to do whatever they can to nail down this theme, even if they need to make some sort of deal with NJPW, if they do indeed have the rights to it. It is a top tier song, and Ospreay should continue using it in AEW.

Only a select few names have been AEW World Champion thus far such as Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Adam Page, CM Punk, MJF, and Samoa Joe. Even though Will Ospreay will be new to AEW as a contracted name, he needs to receive a super push.

Ospreay winning the world title in his first year, perhaps even as soon as AEW All In, could lead to him being a driving force in AEW as they look to regain some momentum. Presenting him as a massive star and crowning him with gold will be a bold way to introduce him.
