With all the news of WWE Superstars being pulled off the WrestleMania 36 card, but refusal by WWE to acknowledge any changes thus far, what's really going on? There are reports now that WWE is actually purposely leaking spoilers to the media and wrestling "dirt sheets" in an effort to confuse the masses.

By now, most of the WWE Universe is aware that WWE taped WrestleMania 36 in advance of the pay-per-view airing this weekend. For some fans, the concern with everything being shot so early was that spoilers might leak and the results of the tapings become public. So too, with rumors of WWE Superstars being injured, sick or, in the case of Roman Reigns, pull themselves from the show, it's hard to know what reports to believe.

This is actually the way WWE wants it, according to recent speculation.

WWE is rumored to be leaking certain elements of the tapings, while also leaking fake news to media. The idea is that these Internet sites and other media outlets will potentially report the fake news, confusing fans and giving WWE a better idea of who is leaking what.

As per Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue, WWE is taking precautions. He says, "To my knowledge, it’s not recording multiple finishes, although, of course, they can record multiple things and see what works well in the edit." He adds, "They are essentially taking, what I think is the best precaution they can possibly take. They are intentionally leaking false spoilers."

Because they can’t stream live, everything is already done. It's all about post-production now, but that still limits WWE in any changes they can potentially make should the results of a big moment leak online. And, Thursday night, it seemed like everything sort of fell apart on WWE as reports of Reigns, The Miz, Andrade, Asuka, Cesaro, Murphy and others not making the event showed up online. There were even reports Edge and Kevin Owens were out. Many of these reports turned out to be inaccurate.

In fact, so many reports turned out to be false, it's hard to know what to believe and what not to.

WWE Is Taking No Chances

While a closed set was going to keep many of the spoilers from leaking, things almost always inevitably have a way of getting out. So, if things were going to leak, WWE might as well get ahead of it and leak what they wanted people to hear.

It's an interesting idea and if it turns out some of the names not on the card are actually on it, WWE will have proved that not every source is as credible as they seem.
