All Elite Wrestling star Chris Jericho will reportedly be out of action for several months after sustaining a legitimate injury to his elbow when he was was pushed off the roof of the Blood and Guts cage on the May 5 edition of AEW Dynamite.

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Jericho was legitimately injured in the stunt. Alvarez was unable to confirm the severity of Jericho's injury, but believes "Le Champion" suffered a fractured elbow.

In case you missed it, Jericho was pushed off the roof of the cage by MJF as The Pinnacle defeated The Inner Circle at Blood and Guts. The spot was divisive among wrestling fans, with some thinking that the protective crash pads were too visible, which ruined the bump's impact and made it look bad.

"I thought the fall looked amazing, maybe because I was the one who took it and I knew how scared I was," Jericho explained on Talk Is Jericho. "It was a black gym mat, about six inches high from the bottom, and it was a bunch of cardboard boxes... then there was plywood and decoration, like a flat piece of plastic, that looked like a steel grate. That was it."

It was expected that Jericho would be kept of AEW programming for several weeks to sell the spot, but he appeared on this week's edition of Dynamite with his wrapped up and in a brace. Jericho and The Inner Circle crashed The Pinnacle's victory party and doused them all with champagne.

Following The Pinnaclle's champagne dousing, MJF accepted Jericho's offer of a rematch, but announced that the two stables would do battle in a Stadium Stampede match at Double Or Nothing.

The choice of match type will be beneficial, as the last Stadium Stampede match was pre-taped and "cinematic," there will be ways to work around Jericho's injury, assuming he hasn't made a recovery by the time Double Or Nothing arrives.

Double Or Nothing will go down on May 30 at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. The event will feature AEW's first full-capacity crowd since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
