In case you didn't already know, professional wrestling is staged. Its results are pre-determined, and although there is an awful lot of risk attached to the unique brand of sports and entertainment, wrestlers go into their matches knowing who is going to win and trying to protect their opponents from harm rather than inflict it. Well, most of the time anyway.

Accused Of Killing The Deadman

Most fans are fully aware of all the above, but a select few are not. While that reasoning doesn't entirely add up in this particular instance, it might go some way to explaining why Michelle McCool was once followed home by no fewer than three police officers. She didn't know this at the time, but police had received a 911 call telling them the former Divas Champion had killed her husband The Undertaker with a sledgehammer.

“I had three cops follow me in the neighborhood one time because a 911 call said I’d killed my husband with a sledgehammer,” McCool revealed on the Wives of Wrestling podcast. While there was never an angle in whIch McCool attacked The Deadman in WWE, she does explain that this particular incident happened shortly after Undertaker had been hot with a sledgehammer by Triple H at WrestleMania.

He's In The Shower, I Swear

The officers refused to explain the situation to McCool, instead insisting that she prove to them her husband was actually home. “I go in the garage, and I kid you not. He’s coming out of the shower in the furthest place in the house, and I’m just yelling like, ‘babe, babe, babe!’,” McCool recalled. “We finally get to the back of the house. He walks out in his towel. There’s three cops behind me. He’s like, ‘what’s going on?’.”

Once the police confirmed the WWE Superstar definitely had not killed The Phenom, they explained to her what had happened. They even let her and Undertaker listen to the 911 call that was presumably made by a fan. As for what led them to believe McCool had offed The Deadman with an iconic wrestling weapon, that remains a mystery.
