Goldberg has been in the news a lot lately. First there were reports that his WWE contract was expiring. Fans fantasy booked dream matches that could have taken him to AEW of all places, though we knew it would never happen. Then came quotes from Goldberg himself where he spoke about Vince McMahon promising him a retirement match that never came to be. "Nobody tells me when I'm done, period," he said. With a quote like that, maybe Goldberg in AEW wasn't so crazy after all.
In response to a fan tweeting about his desire to a see an MJF vs Goldberg match, the AEW World Champion couldn't stop himself from responding in true MJF fashion, tweeting, "I'd beat the living s**t out of this roided up Jew." Whether MJF was just trying to rile everyone up or realized he may have gone a little too far, the tweet has since been deleted.

Tony Khan Has Said He's Paying Attention To Goldberg's Free Agency
Could we really see Goldberg in AEW one day? The promotion's fanbase might not be so quick to accept the star, as his style and persona doesn't match a lot of what AEW puts on TV, but there's no doubt that him arriving in AEW for one last match would be a huge deal.
AEW President Tony Khan has even spoken out about Goldberg, telling Adrian Hernandez last month, "I have a lot of respect for Bill. I think Bill Goldberg is a great professional athlete and has had a great career in pro wrestling and is a very nice person. He's a household name in pro wrestling, so it's interesting to hear that he is a free agent so that's something to follow. He's one of the biggest names in wrestling and certainly will be something else to keep an eye on for us."
It's not looking likely at the moment for Goldberg to return to WWE, but a short final run in AEW could be the perfect goodbye. He could have one more run in with Sting, or face off with AEW's own version of Goldberg, Wardlow. Then there's the possibility of MJF. Just the promos alone would be worth the price of admission.
