Tonight's Bizzaro World edition of AEW Dynamite went down in Long Island, New York where MJF is a babyface and CM Punk is a heel. It was an epic and enjoyable two hours of TV that closed with a thrilling main event in which Bryan Danielson kept his streak alive going into his AEW World Championship match with Hangman Page at Winter Is Coming next week.
Winner: CM Punk's "Heel" Promo
MJF's music hit as soon as the show kicked off, which elicited a big pop from the Long Island crowd. The excitement was short-lived, however, as it was CM Punk who emerged from the back and made his way down the ramp. Punk got on the mic and proceeded to (accurately) point out how bad the Islanders are. Punk also addressed his beef with MJF and said the audience members were "chickens**ts" for rooting for young Maxwell.
A large portion of the crowd played along, but it's clear that some were confused and others didn't have it in them to play along. Regardless, the segment was a lot of fun and Punk was clearly having a blast.
Losers: MJF And The People Of Long Island (Except Billy Joel)
A great MJF hype vignette right before the Dynamite Diamond battle royale was due to begin. MJF came out and pandered to his hometown crowd, which was somewhat surreal. All smiles and waves, he lapped up the adulation and returned it back to his people as he came to the ring to defend his ... erm, ring (but the other kind of ring).
As well all know, MJF is a deplorable human who will stoop as low as he has to to get what he wants. Any fans who cheer him should be ashamed of themselves. Shame on you, Long Island (jkjk).
Winner: Dante Martin Ditches Team Taz In The Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale
The Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale was a beautiful mess. Chaotic, a tad sloppy, but also very fun. MJF chewed the scenery throughout, and his position as one of its winners was never in doubt. The second spot was definitely anyone's prize, though ... until it wasn't.
When the match began, incredibly exciting young upstart Dante Martin was a member of Team Taz, but then he eliminated Ricky Starks and made it pretty clear that he was done with the stable, much to the chagrin of Taz who was on commentary. Martin's decision was wise as he was ultimately declared the co-winner. He'll face MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at Winter Is Coming next week.

Losers: Chaos Without Trent
Chuck Taylor and Rocky Romero (representing Chaos but also The Best Friends) were defeated by The Young Bucks (representing The Elite but also The SuperKliq) in the third match of the show.
Winners: Chaos With Trent (And Sue)
After their win, The Young Bucks continued to beat up the members of Chaos with assistance from Adam Cole and Brandon Cutler. Luckily, Trent returned! With his mom Sue in tow, Trent -- who had been off TV since April -- rescued his friends and chased The SuperKliq away. After that, it was hugs all around as the best friends of The Best Friends welcomed Trent back into the fold in his home state.
Winner: Riho
Riho defeated Jamie Hayter in a really good match in which both women complimented one another's styles wonderfully. Riho is the number one contender to Britt Baker's AEW Women's title, so the result was never really in doubt, but the match was great regardless.
Loser: Poor Johnny Hungy
Bryan Danielson defeated hometown hero John Silver in a brilliant main event. Afterward, Danielson attempted to fulfill a promise he had made and began kicking Silver's head in. Luckily for SIlver, his friend and AEW World Champion Hangman Page made the save.
