Jeff and Matt Hardy defeated Nick and Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks at AEW's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas on May 29 in a very odd match that felt a little off to most who witnessed it. The Hardys are one of the most decorated and celebrated tag teams of all time, and The Bucks seldom -- if ever -- disappoint on the big stage, but the two teams just couldn't seem to get on the same page for a large portion of the match ... and now we know why.
Many fans worried about Jeff Hardy's health as he looked a little out of it during the match. Well, as it turns out, he almost definitely was a little out of it because he came close to being knocked unconscious early on.
"I was happy with the match, especially considering very early on in the match Jeff was almost knocked out," Matt Hardy revealed during a recent episode of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast. "So he got hurt pretty bad. That's why he's being pulled from the match in Los Angeles, obviously. So he was kind of running on fumes going through the match. He still held up his end of the bargain pretty good in the big scheme of things," he added.

According to Matt, Jeff has no recollection of the match and isn't sure when and how he was almost knocked out. "We have a couple of ideas but we're not sure. He has no recollection. He doesn't remember the match at all after that happened," said Matt before praising Nick and Matt Jackson for their ability to think on the fly and carry the match regardless.
Jeff Hardy was released by WWE on December 9 following an incident at a WWE live event at which he allegedly performed while inebriated. Hardy was reportedly sent home from the house show, which led to much speculation among fans regarding his well-being. WWE reportedly attempted to make amends with Jeff by offering him a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame. Jeff rejected to offer and ultimately linked back up with his brother Matt in AEW.
