9 The New Brood
Everyone remembers the time of Edge and Christian teaming with Gangrel in The Brood. Fans enjoyed them playing vampires together, but they eventually split up with Edge and Christian moving forward on their own.

Gangrel tried to get revenge by uniting with Edge and Christian’s new rivals, the Hardy Boyz. Unfortunately, Matt and Jeff didn’t have the same chemistry with Gangrel, and the act felt cheap, since it ripped off the prior Brood.
8 Immortal
TNA utilized Matt and Jeff Hardy together on a few occasions during their respective runs. Matt joining the company during Jeff’s heel stint saw him joining Immortal, which was led by his brother, along with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff.
There were a few matches featuring the Hardy Boyz teaming up as heels. The most noteworthy one came on Impact against mutual enemies Rob Van Dam and Mr. Anderson. Immortal was viewed as a huge flop, which took away from fans caring about the Hardy reunion.
7 Michael Hayes As Manager
When Michael Hayes signed with WWE, the promotion started him off as a broadcaster. However, things would change when the company realized that he could contribute more, which led to him managing the Hardy Boyz.
Hayes started dressing like Matt and Jeff as their manager on-screen and their mentor behind the scenes. The run was a bit lackluster, as it came off as an uncool uncle trying to hang out with his younger relatives. It did however, lead to stronger matches for Matt and Jeff, who began getting more television time.
6 Terri Runnels Managing Them
WWE tried to find a new role for Terri Runnels when looking for wrestlers to manage moving forward. Edge and Christian battled the Hardy Boyz in a best-of-five series with the winning team getting Terri as their manager.
Matt and Jeff won an incredible ladder match which led to them having Runnels as their manager, while becoming bigger stars in their own right. The act was positive at first, since Terri was over after years of television time, but something about the pairing didn't quite fit. WWE separated them after a few months to push the Hardy Boyz on their own.
5 WWE Return In 2017
The time away from WWE in the 2010s would see Matt and Jeff Hardy becoming major stars again, during their time in Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Fans were buzzing about the rumors of them heading back to WWE, but nothing was confirmed during the WrestleMania 33 build.

The surprise element made their return an incredible moment with a huge pop. Unfortunately, WWE failed to book them nearly as well as fans would have hoped. There were still some strong moments with noteworthy matches coming against the likes of The Bar, who formed a surprising exciting tandem.
4 TNA Reunion
TNA reunited Matt and Jeff Hardy together in tag team action around 2014 when Matt re-signed with the company. An underrated rivalry between the Hardy Boyz, Team 3D and the American Wolves carried TNA through a difficult time of change, with many great matches.
The matches were outstanding, with Matt and Jeff proving they could still perform at a high level. Fans reacted positively to the Hardy Boyz winning the TNA Tag Team Championships in 2015. The reign ended faster than the company and fans would have liked, due to Jeff suffering an injury.
3 WWE Reunion Feuding With MNM
Jeff Hardy returning to WWE in 2006 following some time in TNA made him a relevant star again. WWE decided to have a reunion of Jeff and Matt Hardy pitting them against MNM, who had emerged as an exciting new heel act in the tag-team division.
Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury's in-ring skills were impressive, but they needed a great face team to fight and help them get to the next level. WWE ran with the reunion for a few more months with the Hardy Boyz even winning the tag titles. Jeff continued to grow in popularity during this time to set up a bigger single's push afterwards.
2 Broken Hardy Boyz
Matt and Jeff Hardy took a massive creative risk in TNA, when Matt came up with his Broken gimmick. Matt started speaking with an odd accent and appeared to have lost his mind, with the gimmick receiving mixed reactions at first.
However, things would improve when a cinematic match between the brothers made the Broken gimmick the hottest act in wrestling. Jeff eventually joined Matt to start teaming full-time, with both wrestlers now Broken. The Hardy Boyz would dominate Impact and Ring of Honor with this gimmick before WWE re-signed them in 2017.
1 Team Xtreme With Lita
WWE realized that Lita was becoming a bigger star than expected during her time managing Essa Rios. The move to split them up saw her eventually uniting with the Hardy Boyz to form the trio known as Team Xtreme.
All three wrestlers were known for being daredevils and connected strongly with the fan base. Jeff and Matt were the most popular face team, with Lita playing a massive fan favorite in the women’s division as well. Team Xtreme took each of its members to the next level, as major superstars in WWE.
