WWE's 2020 Hall of Fame class is unlikely to be inducted this year following the unforeseen circumstances that have forced changes in just about every walk of life.

The ceremony was originally scheduled for the weekend of WrestleMania, like it normally is, but the coronavirus pandemic led to WWE changing its plans.

There was still a desire to have the ceremony take place during SummerSlam weekend as it was thought that we would have been closer to normalcy than we actually are. According to the @Wrestlevotes Twitter account, the promotion was keen on having the event as a PPV once fans returned, with SummerSlam in mind. However, that wasn't possible either and the company's had to resort to the ThunderDome project in order to get fans to interact during shows.

The plan is now geared towards inducting the 2020 Class as the Class of 2021 during WrestleMania 37 in Hollywood in 2021.

"WWE’s plan regarding the 2020 Hall of Fame was to do it at a corresponding PPV once fans returned, ideally SummerSlam," they wrote. "That obviously didn’t happen. With no fans until November at the earliest, the plan is now to induct the 2020 class as the class of 2021 during WrestleMania 37."

WWE has already announced the likes of Batista, JBL, The Bella Twins, Jushin Thunder Liger, The British Bulldog and nWo quintuple Hulk Hogan, Sean Waltman, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash as the Class of 2020 - and they should have all been named Hall of Famers by now. Unfortunately, the pandemic has made it so the honor will be put on hold.

We Wait For More

There's no word on whether any additional entrants will be named ahead of the 2021 event. We don't imagine WWE having two Hall of Fame induction ceremonies next year so it's likely that the current class and the one set to go into the HoF next year will all be inducted together.

As things stand, WrestleMania 37 weekend is penciled in for the last weekend of March next year, with the Show of Shows scheduled for March 28 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
