Long story short, Bound For Glory is Impact Wrestling's equivalent to WrestleMania. As the most important show of the year, the promotion always try to have the biggest matches on the card. There have been a lot of great matches and moments at Bound For Glory over the years. Unfortunately, there have also been terrible matches that have taken place at this event.

Sometimes, a match concept was simply awful that it just made the experience terrible. Other times, the bookings didn't make any sense. And then, of course, there were those rare times that the actual wrestling was just bad. Here are the ten worst matches ever seen in Bound for Glory.
10 Miss Tessmacher Vs Tara (Bound For Glory, 2012)
From the bell, Miss Tessmacher vs Tara was filled with awkward mistakes. Both Knockouts tried hard to give a great match, but it ended up being sloppy. There were a lot of mistakes here that led to a messy, disjointed match.
As the veteran, Tara tried to save the whole thing. Unfortunately, Miss Tessmacher and referee Taryn Terrell made a lot of mistakes the moment the bout began. The end result was far from great.
9 ODB Vs Tara Vs Awesome Kong (Bound For Glory. 2009)
Not only was this triple threat sloppy, but the booking was also weird and nonsensical. Tara was having a confrontation with Kim Couture on the outside, despite being in the midst of a title match. Raisha Saeed failing when trying to help Kong didn't make sense either.
Add in a dead crowd and sloppy wrestling, and you have a recipe for a match that's just Bound For Failure. This match just couldn't overcome its many negatives.
8 The Steiner Brothers Vs Team 3D (Bound For Glory, 2007)
This match might have been good... if it had happened years earlier. Instead, it was an ECW-style brawl through the crowd that made for a less than exciting tables match. The match followed a predictable path and was riddled with mistakes and awkward spots.

Rick Steiner was down for most of the match. Scott Steiner fell through a table that was already broken and commentary says it doesn't count. It was an awkward match that really didn't need to happen. Team 3D can do better.
7 Great Muta & Tajiri Vs James Storm & Sanada (Bound For Glory, 2014)
This was a travesty as a pay per view main event. This tag-team main event was a slow match with no crowd investment or excitement. Maybe the match could have been at least acceptable with a hot crowd but the audience was anything but. There was nothing good here, and nothing for viewers to cheer or boo.
The crowd just didn't care about this match at all. There was no reaction to big moments. As a Bound For Glory match, this was a complete failure. As a Bound For Glory main event, it's even worse.
6 Eric Young Vs Larry Zbyskow (Bound For Glory, 2006)
Nobody was expecting Eric Young vs Larry Zbyskow to be a good match at 2006's Bound For Glory. These low expectations were met, as the ensuing fight was as bad as predicted. For a loser gets fired match, nothing happened. There was a low blow and a knuckles shot and that was it.
This was short yet notable waste of pay per view time. It should have happened on a weekly show, not the biggest show of the year. At least the crowd was into Eric Young.
5 Joey Ryan Vs Al Snow (Bound For Glory, 2012)
Al Snow should not have had a match in 2012. Snow was not a regular wrestler at this point and it showed. Joey Ryan needed to do more to get a decent match with Snow but he didn't.
Ryan showed nothing and Snow showed his age. This match shouldn't have even happened on an episode of Impact, much less at Bound For Glory. This was a terrible match, where the only thing of note that happened was the tease of an alliance between Ryan and Matt Morgan.
4 Bound For Gold Gauntlet (Bound For Glory, 2015)
The Bound For Gold Gauntlet match in 2015 was terrible and long. Despite it being for a title opportunity, it was presented as bad comedy. That's not the way to make a title opportunity seem important. Tyrus won this nonsense to earn said title opportunity.

It was also confusing that commentary changed their mind during the match whether it was a number one contender's match or a match for an opportunity at any title. This was a very bad match to be given so much time. It honestly would have been better to cut this match for a 20-minute promo.
3 Maria Kanellis Vs Gail Kim (Bound For Glory, 2016)
It's clear that neither Maria and Gail Kim put on a good showing for the Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory in 2016. They tried using excessive interference to cover up a bad match but it just made it worse.
There was nothing good to see here. It was a very limited match that didn't show positives for either Knockout and the interference wasn't distracting enough to cover that up. Cody and Brandi Rhodes debuting afterwards was the only real thing of worth.
2 Hulk Hogan Vs Sting (Bound For Glory, 2011)
Let's cut to the chase: Hulk Hogan should not have been wrestling in 2011. Sting wasn't having great matches, either. Putting them together in 2011 for a Bound For Glory match was a terrible idea. Playing on nostalgia and upping the stakes with a match for the control of the company didn't help.
This was a terrible match between two old men. The crowd loved Hogan and Sting but there is no denying how terrible this match was. In truth, it would have been more acceptable if they both had representatives fighting for them. Unfortunately, both old-timers decided to get in the ring.
1 Fight For The Right AKA Reverse Battle Royal (Bound For Glory, 2007)
No one asked for a reverse battle royal; it's just a bad idea that was just begging for terrible execution. The sight of competitors standing around the ring when they could have entered at any time was just ridiculous. This was most evident with Lance Hoyt, who spent a lot of time just standing around, waiting for his turn to do something.
Eric Young won this embarrassment of a TNA main event. It was awkwardly worked and the concept just didn't make sense. A regular battle royal is fine. A reverse battle royal should never happen. This was easily one of the worst ideas to ever take shape at Bound For Glory.
