In any work environment, there are friendships, strictly professional relationships, and enemies. Over time, dynamics between people in these work environments can change. In the world of professional wrestling, things are no different as relationships are constantly being torn up and repaired.

In the most unfortunate cases, some pairs of wrestlers start as friends and eventually become sworn enemies. Whether this is a result of individual ambition, infidelity, or lawsuits, here are some examples of wrestlers' friendships that turned rotten.

10 Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage

Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage were on-and-off friends for many years. When they first encountered one another, the two hit it off and genuinely enjoyed working with one another. However, by 2000 when WCW finally closed down, things got extremely heated between the two wrestling legends.

Savage blamed Hogan for WCW's downfall among many other things, going as far as releasing a diss rap song about Hogan's transgressions and shady behavior over the years. Hogan also had nothing good to say about his former friend for the longest time, though he and some close to Savage say that they actually reconciled shortly before Savage died in 2011.

9 Matt Hardy & Edge

Edge and Matt Hardy grew a deep respect for one another through the various legendary ladder matches they participated in together in the early stages of their career. All of Hardy's mutual respect for Edge would go out the window when he discovered his girlfriend Lita was having an affair with the Rated-R Superstar.

This real-life tension would be played out on WWE television until Hardy was forced to leave the company for making too large of a fuss over the issue backstage.

8 Raven & Stevie Richards

Raven and Stevie Richards were notable stars in ECW who came into close association when the two were booked in a tag team together. Backstage, Richards got along with mostly everyone, including Raven.

However, their relationship would eventually turn sour as Richards got fed up with having to take care of Raven after various instances of drug abuse. Richards felt used and looked for ways to separate himself from Raven during the time.

7 Triple H & Chyna

Around the same time that Chyna was involved with DX, Triple H and Chyna were involved in a real-life romantic relationship. The two were living with one another and it is rumored that the two even contemplated marriage. Things would change when Triple H was written to be in an on-screen relationship with Stephanie McMahon, as this would result in the two falling in real-life love.

This, of course, ended the romantic relationship between Triple H and Chyna and would be followed by years of bad blood between the two parties. Chyna went as far as to make false allegations about Triple H being physically abusive to her in the past in an attempt to tarnish his legacy.

6 Buff Bagwell & 2 Cold Scorpio

Buff Bagwell and 2 Cold Scorpio as a tag-team worked together great and even won a WCW tag-team championship together. After years apart, however, Scorpio has gone around to various media outlets saying negative things about Bagwell.

Scorpio questions Bagwell's integrity and accuses him of sucking up to authority figures in WCW in order to gain opportunities. Bagwell doesn't appear to share the same strong feelings about Scorpio, being confused more than anything.

5 Hulk Hogan & Scott Steiner

Hulk Hogan and Scott Steiner came to like each other when they first started working together in WCW as part of the nWo. What caused this relationship to turn sour isn't particularly well-detailed however, no one is confused about whether or not these two completely despising one another.

Steiner allegedly accosted Hogan's wife in an airport and told her about how he was going to kill Hogan. Years later, Hogan would have Steiner blackballed from attending a WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

4 CM Punk & Colt Cabana

CM Punk and Colt Cabana were once best friends who had a bond that grew through the time they spent in the independent wrestling scene together. Tensions arose when both wrestlers found themselves entrenched in a lawsuit with WWE doctor Chris Ammann, with both being sued on the grounds of defamation.

After several miscommunications regarding legal fees, the two had a falling out that became public and very nasty. Considering how close Punk and Cabana were for so many years, it is extremely difficult to believe the two couldn't, and still haven't worked this out.

3 Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid

Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid made up a tag-team called "The British Bulldogs". The real-life cousins and friends had a chemistry that led them to become one of the most respected tag teams in wrestling history.

Things went awry as time progressed, leading the two to constantly argue about a variety of issues. Davey Boy would further damage their relationship by copyrighting Dynamite Kid's ring name to profit off it while hurting him.

2 Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty

Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty started their careers as friends and tag-team partners. While their tag team would eventually parted ways and never join forces ever again, their friendship blew up even quicker.

Michaels and Jannetty were no strangers to physical altercations with one another while on the road as a tag-team. Jannetty's bitter disdain for Michaels would carry on many years after they split up, as Jannetty still dislikes Michaels to this day.

1 Hulk Hogan & Dr. D

Dr. D David Schultz took Hulk Hogan under his wing at the start of the latter's career. Schultz taught him a lot about the wrestling industry and guided Hogan to be one of wrestling's promising stars. As Hogan grew in popularity, Schulz was the perfect villain to counter Hogan's babyface character. Vince McMahon seized this opportunity and signed both stars to WWE.

Over time, Schulz would be fired from WWE and blackballed from wrestling while Hogan continued to make millions as the company's top star. Today, Schulz has nothing but negative feelings towards his former student due to Hogan's lack of support for him during his legal and occupational troubles.
