Hulk Hogan had one of the few wrestling careers that featured a Mount Rushmore run for multiple decades. Every wrestler hopes to reach that top spot where fans view them as a greatest of all time candidate for most of his career. Hogan had strengths like his larger than life character and jacked physique.

However, the in-ring portion often featured more disappointment since he wasn’t a great worker. Hogan did have strong matches against the likes of The Rock, Vince McMahon and Ultimate Warrior in the perfect scenarios. The flip side saw a side of the legend that is not flattering. Hogan’s following matches are on the list of ones he’d want us to forget about for various reasons.
10 Hulk Hogan Vs The Butcher (Starrcade 1994)
One common complaint about Hulk Hogan was that he often tried to get his friends pushed above more deserving names. WCW witnessed this from the start when many of Hogan’s friends from WWE jumped ship with hm and received strong pushes.
However, the biggest instance of this led to huge negatives when Brutus Beefcake was repackaged as The Butcher. Hogan somehow talked WCW into having them main event WCW’s biggest event Starrcade 1994 in a stinker of a match no one wanted.
9 Hulk Hogan Vs Yokozuna (King Of The Ring 1993)
WWE started to grow tired of Hulk Hogan’s influence during the end of his run in 1993. Hogan winning the WWE Championship from Yokozuna minutes after he won it from Bret Hart at WrestleMania 9 was bad enough, but the feud continued for another regretful match.

King of the Ring 1993 featured Hogan dropping the title back to Yokozuna before leaving the company. Another instance of Hogan not wanting to lose cleanly featured an outlandish finish of a Japanese photographer blinding him with a fireball from a camera before Yokozuna took advantage.
8 Hulk Hogan Vs The Giant (Halloween Havoc 1995)
Many of the worst matches for Hulk Hogan came due to his own creative input and bad judgment. Big Show’s WCW time as The Giant saw him winning the WCW Championship via DQ at Halloween Havoc 1995 in his first match.
Hogan was all in on the idea of The Giant being the son of Andre the Giant to continue that feud. However, it turned into a trainwreck from this match at the start. Multiple Hogan tropes like not getting pinned and Jimmy Hart conning him into defeat made it a horrible match that ages even worse.
7 Mr. America Vs Roddy Piper (Judgment Day 2003)
WWE bringing Hulk Hogan back for another major run in the early 2000s featured the strange character shift to Mr. America. The running gag was that Mr. America posed and spoke like Hogan with everyone knowing the joke but Vince McMahon being unable to prove it.
Roddy Piper returning to WWE around that time led to them having one more match under the new story. Judgment Day 2003 featured an embarrassing match between Piper and Hogan under the mask to make it a bad call by WWE to book this.
6 Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage Vs The Alliance To End Hulkamania (Uncensored 1996)
WCW allowed Hulk Hogan’s input to create some terrible ideas in the years before the New World Order saved things. Hogan and Randy Savage ended up in a ridiculous double decker cage match against a total of seven wrestlers at Uncensored 1996.
The Alliance to End Hulkamania was created with mostly members of the Dungeon of Doom and Four Horsemen trying to take down Hogan. Fans were treated to a horrible overbooked match just to give Hogan another moment overcoming the odds.
5 Hulk Hogan Vs Kevin Nash (Nitro)
The creative side of WCW led to many matches upsetting fans, but few were as bad as Hulk Hogan vs Kevin Nash on the first episode of Nitro in the year 1999. Nash was expected to defend the WCW Championship against Goldberg until he was taken to a police station after accusations from Miss Elizabeth.

WCW did this to set up Hogan challenging Nash instead for the infamous finger poke of doom. Nash laying down to let Hogan win the belt made fans wonder if this was a Hulk demand with his creative control clause. Many fans view this as the downfall moment that the company couldn’t recover from.
4 Hulk Hogan Vs Sting (Bound For Glory 2011)
The TNA stint of Hulk Hogan is nowhere near as beloved as his WWE and WCW contributions as an all-time great. Many wrestlers and fans viewed Hogan as hurting the company with his impact leading to bad decisions and a fundamental shift in the company.
Hogan himself likely would not want fans to remember that his final televised match came in TNA against Sting at Bound for Glory 2011. Even though there were some fun moments of nostalgia, this would not represent how Hogan wants his final moment in the sun to be remembered.
3 Hulk Hogan Vs Sting (Starrcade 1997)
Hulk Hogan had a more regretful match with Sting in WCW than his final TNA match. Starrcade 1997 was the important night where WCW set a PPV box office record for the main event. Every WCW fan wanted to see Sting wrestle his first match in years and defeat the man that broke his spirit.
Sting did win the match to give fans a moment they paid for, but the match itself was an all-time bad one. WCW changed the finish for a confusing fast count pin that wasn’t even fast and the match having to restart. Hogan is often blamed for this due to his creative control clause and likely would love to have that one back.
2 Hulk Hogan Vs Sid Justice (WrestleMania 8)
There were a few WrestleMania matches that jumped the shark for Hulk Hogan, but one of them stands out more aggressively. WrestleMania 8 seemed like the main event was obvious when Randy Savage challenged Ric Flair for the WWE Championship.
However, WWE decided to make that title match a semi-main event for the first time in the show’s history. Hogan wanting to main event vs Sid Justice was a terrible decision that led to a bad match with an even worse botched DQ finish. The show basically ended with Hogan’s ego being rewarded as the expense of everything else.
1 Hulk Hogan Vs Ultimate Warrior (Halloween Havoc 1998)
Another all-time bad match to feature Hulk Hogan’s ego being questioned was his Halloween Havoc 1998 program against Ultimate Warrior. WCW brought Warrior in on a massive paid short-term deal to have a rematch between the legends from their WWE days.
Warrior referenced being the only wrestler Hogan faced and never defeated. The PPV match led to a disaster of Warrior being in poor ring condition and Hogan botching in brutal fashion. Most fans believe Hogan wanting a win back over Warrior is what caused us to see his most embarrassing match ever.
