TNA is returning in 2024 - in name at least as the company has never gone away. Throughout its history, TNA/Global Force/Impact Wrestling had its fair share of odd and bizarre moments, from Puppet, the gunslinging little person to the debut of Broken Matt Hardy and the murder (and miraculous reappearance) of Eric Young.

Given such a history, it is no surprise that TNA's titles also have seen some questionable and/or forgotten reigns. Following are ten examples of bizarre and forgotten title reigns in TNA/Impact Wrestling history.
10 Syxx-Pac As X-Division Champion (2002)
TNA was created in 2002 in the wake of the death of WCW, and so it is not surprising that its initial roster had a large influx of ex-WCW and WWE talent. One of those talents was Sean Waltman who combined his X-Pac and Syxx names into Syxx-Pac. Waltman won the title on TNA's sixteenth weekly PPV on October 9, 2002 and lost it only two weeks later to AJ Styles. The title reign is largely forgotten, partly due to how short it was, and partly because Waltman's name is not associated with TNA's early X-Division.
9 Kazarian And Michael Shane As Co-X-Division Champions (2004)
Anybody remember Michael Shane? He would be known as 'Maverick' Matt Bentley later but he began under the moniker of Michael Shane, winning the X-Division title in August 2003. A year later, Shane and Kazarian both found themselves in an Ultimate X Match with X-Division champion AJ Styles.

Both men unhooked the X simultaneously, leaving them both as Co-X-Division champions. In typical TNA fashion, the storyline came to an end two weeks later when they lost the title in a Gauntlet for the Gold.
8 Rhino As World Heavyweight Champion (2005)
Bound for Glory 2005 was TNA's attempt at creating their own WrestleMania. The scheduled main event therefore saw the two biggest names in the company at the time, Jeff Jarrett and Kevin Nash square off. However, Nash was pulled from the event due to a medical emergency as he was hospitalized with chest pains. TNA scrambled for a new main event and came up with a ten man gauntlet match. The winner would face Jarrett for the title immediately afterward. Rhino would go on to win both matches and become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion out of nowhere. Needless to say, he would hold the title for two days before dropping it back to Jarrett at an Impact taping (the episode aired a week later on November 3, 2005).
7 Team Pacman As World Tag Team Champions (2007)
Adam 'Pacman' Jones signed with TNA in 2007 while on suspension from the NFL. After some legal back and forth, the NFL agreed that Pacman could appear on TNA - he just couldn't wrestle. This compromise led to some bizarre matches in which Pacman was a participant but neither executed a move or took a bump.

Despite all that, he managed to win the World Tag Team Titles alongside Ron Killings (R-Truth). Even more bizarre: he never lost the title as he was replaced in the match against Tomko and AJ Styles at Bound for Glory 2007 by Consequences Creed (Xavier Woods).
6 Rob Terry As Global Champion (2010)
Rob Terry was a big Welsh muscleman who debuted as part of the British Invasion faction. However, his body was Terry's biggest asset and he never had a more prominent role in TNA than as Global champion. It is pretty safe to assume too that he only won that title because he faced champion Eric Young in Cardiff, Wales at a TNA live event. Terry held on to the title for six months though before losing it to AJ Styles who would eventually rename the title into the TV championship.
5 Matt Morgan As World Tag Team Champion (2010)
Morgan and Hernandez won the tag team titles at Genesis in January 2010. However, on the April 5, 2010 edition of Impact, Morgan injured his partner and declared himself the sole tag team champion. He defended the title for a month before losing it against The Band, the three-man combination of Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Eric Young, after a returning Hernandez had laid Morgan out and Nash invoked his 'Feast or Fired' briefcase for a tag title shot.
4 ODB & Eric Young As Knockouts Tag Team Champions (2012)
ODB and Eric Young were (in storyline) romantically involved and Young asked then-commissioner Sting for advice on proposing to ODB. Sting, in his Joker phase, misunderstood and booked Young into a Knockouts Tag Team Title match with ODB as his partner.

The pair won the match and Young proposed afterward. The couple held the titles until being stripped by Brooke Hogan. Her reasoning was solid: since Eric Young was a man, he couldn't hold the women's tag team title.
3 PJ Black As King Of The Mountain Champion (2015)
Best known as Justin Gabriel in WWE, PJ Black won the King of the Mountain title, formerly known as TNA's TV title, at an Impact taping in July 2015. He would hold the title for one day until the next set of tapings where he lost it again to Bobby Roode. Because of Impact's taping schedule, Black's title win didn't air until August 12 and his title loss aired on September 2. So while he only actually held the title for a day, he is recognized for having held it for 21 days.
2 Bram As King Of The Mountain Champion (2016)
Now known as Thom Latimer, the former Kenneth Cameron from WWE's original Ascension tag team won the King of the Mountain title from Eric Young on the April 26 episode of Impact. He held the title for about a month before losing it to Eli Drake (now LA Knight in WWE) who invoked his 'Feast or Fired' contract after Bobby Lashley had attacked Bram.
1 The Briscoes As World Tag Team Champions (2022)
The Briscoes were mostly associated with Ring of Honor. However, it is often forgotten that they also had a brief run in Impact Wrestling in 2022 where they even won the tag team titles from Violent by Design (Deaner and Eric Young). They held the titles for 43 days before losing them to the Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) at Slammiversary.
